Crystal31, some great schools for Economics are University of Chicago (Friedman, Hayek, and so much more), UC Berkeley (as mrinal said, haas is the only undergraduate economics school in the states), MIT (Sloan) and London School of Economics (heck, it has economics in it’s name).

Also, if you’re seriously thinking about economics at berkeley, I’d suggest you rather major at bass in business and then later study economics if you want to. You’ll still be taking a lot of economics classes.

@idream17: they are both non-binding so I think I can, but will check up. @Crystal31: I am not certain yet, it will either be Physics or Biology as I plan to do Medicine later. But I might just end up doing Journalism, it attracts me more.

@crystal31.
Im stil so not sure about my major.
I know im definitely going to do something in photography so a good tog program is a must for whichever college I go to. But academically something in physiscs

Crystal, the essay topics of the CommonApplication are the same every year. Also, I think for your batch, CommonApp will be given a visual makeover to look even cooler :)

As far as I know, no. Because the news statement they released seemed to hint that the update would be strictly visual. Also, to change essay topics, they’d have to discuss it with member universities. If that were happening, it would surely be big news. So far, the new ticker seems to be … ticking … without any common app news.

I don’t know why I don’t want to post again :)

From Maharashtra (HSC), Applying MPH only (in order of preference) for class of 2017 all in RD.

Completed in last year itself, now putting 100% in JEE (need to work harder due to new syllabus)
Seriously confused over Common app essay, would be doing it no sooner than Nov.

Somebody posted that only 3 made it to MIT last year, actually I am aware that atleast 8 got it and 6 are admitted (1 at Stanfy and other will be in IIT-B CS)

Princeton selected 18 for 2016 and 8 for 2015 ( visit princeton club of india)
Harvard has around 30% legacy(hoping that this won’t interfere ~10% intl)

@rew - no, i haven’t yet. focusing on school for a while. will start looking at essays and finalizing colleges by the end of this month. any idea where i can find sample essays?
