Thanks. I thought it wouldn't mean anything since the game was created by Americans but I was curious. I wish I could read it myself but I've forgotten Hindi since coming to the U.S. This is rather pathetic considering I used to live in Uttar Pradesh and spoke and read Hindi perfectly but at home I only speak Malayalam so Hindi fell out of use after settling in the U.S. I wonder if it's easier to re-learn a language than it is to learn it for the first time... Maybe there is some Hindi hidden deep inside my brain? >_>

we missd the 10k mark at Tit 14 but 15 for sure is headed in that direction

HEY HOW ARE YOU GUYS GEARING UP for SAT?

Anyone taking some coaching here...?

whoa,been away for a while...welcome to TiT 15!!!

I'm done with SAT I, I've still got to give the SAT II's. I used the PR and the Collegeboard Blue book for the SAT. I'm using Barrons (along with my school textbooks) for the SAT II. As far as coaching goes, I feel it only helps you if you score low, if you're already scoring high all you need is practice.

The mods won't allow that :p

Another admissions season starts. sigh

Well, I'm done with the SAT and with 3 SAT IIs (I'm doing two more to demonstrate capabilities in other subjects).

For the SAT, I didn't do any coaching, but used PR, Barrons and Kaplan (I must have worked through at least 30 practice tests)

I'd recommend that you take a free diagnostic, if you get a score at a dry run of over 1900, then with enough practice and familiarization with the question type (that's the important thing), getting a v. good score is a breeze.

The SAT IIs on the other hand might require coaching if you haven't covered the portion yet (for instance I did chemistry during my first term of 12th and had to take a bit of help to learn some concepts that I'd only cover in school after the test) For Math, however, I used only PR and Barrons, while in Lit, I didn't use anything, just had a look at the type of questions and did the exam for fun. :)

So k_twin, was your fee waiver problem solved?

Oh, nice of you to remember, it wasn't really a problem, more like I was doing a bit of surfing through college websites, and thought I'd pose the question.
Plus I've also started submitting basic information forms for colleges, and paying the application fee, so its been in the back of my mind.

It isn't really a problem (the fee) for me, its just that as I'm planning to apply to many colleges, as is my brother, so it all adds up. (I'm justifying it to myself as a once-in-a-lifetime expenditure :) )

Being Twins should increase your chances.
Diversity you know.;)

Diversity forever! (We are quite different you know :) )

On a little thought, it may depend if you both are identical or not.:D

Sure are, however, with time spent, the differences emerge...

So, what were the SAT scores of both of you.

Ah!, those two got near perfect scores in both forms of the SAT, if I'm not mistaken.

:o shri (my twin) got 2360 in the SAT, while I got a 2330 composite. We've done Math II, Chem and Lit so far, shri got full in all, I got full in Math and chem, but 770 in Lit.

The title and end song of the movie 'Inside Man' with Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster is Hindi-Punjabi. Very good movie.

Hey guys do you know anything about grinnell college or any other private LAC's that give intl transfer aid?????

No idea, check on the college sites.
(And many many thanks for typing in normal English)
