unless i apply for specific schools like School of Engineering or School of Arts....i would prefer to pick 'undecided'....

Well,I would chose a specific one first, coz it will clear us of the net compitition....but I will keep the undecided as the second option.....

Hey,has anyone been to any new movie yet?(sheesh.....I m dead.....I havnt watchd a movie since ''2'' months...or may b more....I dont know how I m livin...).....

when u apply for undecided , the university knows that there is high chance you may shift to one of their most competitive majors.. there are places where the admission is independent of major ( MIT, HARVARD , etc ) and where you are admitted to the university not to the particular school. At these places the undecided option has simply no effect to admissions. Infact even at other places almost 60% of students dont graduate in the major which was at the time of their admission .. thus colleges dont really care about it that much ..

secondly , for places where admission is school dependant (like cornell) even to apply undecided you are encouraged to apply or give preferences of atleast the school of admission.. within a particular shool (like school of enginerring and sciences) admission is equally tough for all the students..

thus for places where there is school specific admission giving undecided overall does decrease your chances a bit if you apply for the easy courses but also sometimes , if supplied with a valid reason helps you enhance your chances...
