The Indian Thread (TiT) # 16

I'm not one to stick around the resort, I'll venture into town, I like exploring, gives a clearer picture of the place.

Have fun Shreya! :) I had my farewell on Jan 31st... :(

How many indians are there here on CC that applied to USC? I just know of me and aj16.. I'm getting tired of waiting for the app status to change..

Nope, not been to Indonesia before.

Hi shreya!

S33D- does your wisconsin account show that they have recieved everything?

No, it's still stuck on

What does yours say?

I'm not that keen on Wisconson though. I've heard jokes about how much the OOS/Internationals complain about the weather there.. plus a friend at Minnesota is getting super depressed coz of the extremely cold weather.. He told me 8 indians came to U of Minnesota this year and 4 have already left .. lmao

Nice going everyone, this thread finally gets some air...:)..

...much to isaac's delight :)

yeah, a big grin..:D...

Hey guys, I was just wondering...I recently registered with CollegeBoard, and was just checking out the profiles of some colleges. Nearly all of them require 3 years of social science. But in India we only have 2 years. Is this an issue?

I wouldn't take those profiles very seriously if I were you. A lot of information there is incorrect IIRC.

Na.. Dont think so.. 2 years is ok...

I dont think anyone gives a damn about that. Indian schooling system will not modify itself to comply with the American Colleges. SO they HAVE to accept us the way we are. :D

Haha thats a nice way of looking at it :P

And I really have no idea why tetris is going bonkers so early. And people call us paranoid.

Lol ajay that's my nature :). Can't help it!

^ seriously, i have not seen a more committed person.
you have been here much longer than me and are still in class 10th!- i was busy having cat fights and didn;'t care a damn about what i'll do in future!
my sis is in class 10th-she doesn't even think about college right now- just busy memorising her social books and my constant reminding about the unimportance of getting 95% in 10th will deter her.
i personally just started thinking about college in july this year.
i bet you'll get into some place fantastic :D

Wow shreya, thank you so much! Actually because of me, my friends have suddenly realized that if they plan to go abroad, they have some serious work to do...and they're thanking me for bringing about this realization!

I wish I had a friend like that when I was in 9th/10th :(

Ok here is what I think frankly. Dont take offense tetris :)

I have seen loads of paranoid people. In short, I completely hate them. They spend three years before college trying to get into a college then next 4 years of college deciding where to get a ruddy job then next years trying to earn money like hell. In the end, they realize they have wasted more time preparing for the future. I never thought seriously about college in X. I mean come on its just X. Enjoy your life. How much time do you spend on CC? You could day way more productive work that would be more helpful. Get out there. Have fun!
