Many of us commented/ commiserated in the Mother’s Day thread that we are up at some point in the middle of the night (often in the 3-4 am window, but all over the place time-wise, when we want to or should be asleep!!) Well, we have company! Even though we are in different time zones, we can sympathize about our sleep challenges, trouble falling to, or back to sleep, or whatever comes to mind (non-political) in the wee hours of the morning. See you in the wee hours!
Oh good, something to do when I’m not going to sleep like I should. When we lived in Chicagoland, I routinely stayed up until 2-3 am and said I was living on California time. Now that we’re in California, I say I’m living on Hawaii time.
Unfortunately I wake seven-ish most days. Lucky to sleep until 8.
I have a dreadful time falling asleep. I have to wait for my husband to nod off ( in five minutes) because if I’m disturbed all is lost! I took ambien for at least a decade until I became tolerant. Now I only use it when we travel, since it’s working again. I have thc tinctures that I use for joint pain which helps sleep somewhat. Melatonin does nothing, nor does trazadone. I’ve experienced being awake in bed from midnight to 4or 5 am and just about ready to sleep. I tried a lunesta last week. Didn’t put me asleep right away though it might have helped later. Left a very strange taste. Wish there was some type of supplement that helps turn off your brain and allows for some consistent rest.
I am usually up at 3 or 4, for a couple of hours but tonight I am engaging in sleep procrastination, to try to sleep later. It never works.
see you in a few hours
It’s only a little after 1. And yet……
I’m awake, sigh.
Just corrected my first post to say that I’m lucky to sleep until 8, not 6. My eye focus is off per other posts - at least now I know it’s because more light is reaching my eyes. Hope they adjust and I don’t end up needing new glasses. I have to give it a few more weeks before we can know one way or the other. But I tried an experiment and if I lower my lids halfway down - ta da, focus.
So between that, connecting with my hair dresser who is technically off on disability but will sneak in later this month so I can get my roots touched up in time for nephew’s wedding, and finally getting the last of the surgery/medication ointment out of the hair by my hairline…maybe I’ll sleep? Although between last night’s episode of Succession and binging several episodes of the last season of Barry - maybe not.
Me, too. Been for 30 minutes. I’ll do this for 3 nights, then sleep until 5:30/6.
I’m awake because I haven’t gone to bed yet. Any minute now. I need to get up on Friday to be at an event 25 minutes away by 9:30 AM. I should be shifting my go to bed get up times starting now to make it less painful on Friday but so far I’m not. Obviously.
Made it to 6 am. Whoopee.
Not bad!
if only I’d known about this thread! I did the whole “okay, it’s 3:30. If I’m still awake at 4, I’ll get up”
But I was up at 1
I worked night shift for 22 years and became dependent on Ambien and benadrly in order to sleep even 4 hours. I’ve now been on day shift for 3 years and my sleep is still terrible. I envy my husbands sleep so much.
We will be here again tonight
I love this thread so much. When my heart sinks as I look at the clock hopefully (hopelessly?), I will know I have company!
While I may not be a regular contributor to this thread (yet), I look forward to catching up with you all around 6am or so. I have high expectations for the erudite conversation I miss in my sleep.
It’s “only” 1:40. Not chatting now- will try to get back to bed. But worldle first
2:21. In bed, but not sleepy yet. My Fitbit tells me I wake up about an hour during the night, and that the rest of my sleep is poor. $#@& pain!
