Me, too! Got up to use the bathroom at exactly 4AM and didn’t get right back to sleep. I thought about checking in on this thread but, like @Colorado_mom, decided to stay in bed.
I almost never have trouble sleeping but, when I do, I’m up for hours, and I always hop on CC for a bit. I’m glad this thread exists. Funny, I catch up with all the new posts in this thread during the day even though that’s not the point. And I’m posting right now at the wrong time…
We’re at our cabin this weekend. I sleep great here and rarely wake up during the night, even to use the bathroom. It’s not just the quiet, because our house is in a very quiet area, too. Lack of stress, maybe?
I always slept better when camping. Alas, sometimes I did have to go to the campground rest room. That’s when I started getting indiglow illuminated watches… if 1am it’s a no brainer - just go; if 5:30am, maybe it’s worth waiting for daylight.
Good morning. It’s 3:30 am. Hope to get back to sleep but I have a new mosquito bite and it itches. Hoping some rubbing alcohol will help. Suggestions?
Tried the path of least resistance and grabbed what I could find upstairs, which turned out to be ammonia! But somehow it seemed to help and I got back to sleep (but now it itches again).
That mosquito must have gotten caught under our covers as my ankles and knees now also have bites. No they aren’t fleas or bedbugs- they are mosquito bites and I now have 10!!! Here are a few:
For me, applying hot air with a blower dryer or hot water in the shower works every time. I have a little guy that has a fetish to an ear. It goes in the ear canal and bites there. Nothing is worse than that.
Nursing a lingering sinus infection and pretty sure this will be the third night in a row of poor sleep. Hopeful that I’ll be off this thread by next week.
Diuretic kept me up til 3 am last night. Then I was so dehydrated that I had leg cramps the rest of the night. Ugh. Did watch the Mrs. Maisel finale, though, and put another coat of paint on the bay window shelf. The cut-ins are still darker than the rest of the shelf. Perfectionism is frustrating.
I hope that works, @jym626 ! I think that sometimes we get bitten by a different species of mosquito and our bodies overreact. It happened to me once in Puerto Rico, and it was so much itchier than mosquito bites have ever been. Sorry to say I don’t have a magic remedy, but Benadryl sounds like a good idea.
