The Interview Tried To Trick Me Today!

Ok guys.

i'm so excited today!!

For ED application to Wharton, I got called for an interview, today!!
its pretty late, since results are about to come out, but i finally get one!
i wanted one soo bad

anyways this is the story

They call me at like 3, leave a message at answer machine.
i'm at school, and my parents don't come home from work till 7 oclock

Anyways, i get home at like 5:30. Call the interviewer.

"Hi, I'm felix, Ed Penn applicant, i got ur call about the penn interview"
-"oh, hi felix"
"sorry for the late call, I just got home from school activity"
-"oh, i see. Your mom told me that you were staying after for orchestra rehearsal. Is this true?"
"Ye.uhh..Noooo." (confused)
-"oh, ok. Well, about that intreview..."

That is like the EXACT conversation I had with my interviewer on the phone

She tried to trick me!!! She hasnt even talked to my mom. She probably knows I do orchestra.

What does this mean?
Why am i getting interview so late? And the interviewer is trying to figure me out?? Is she testing my honesty?? She's so tricky...

She's a spy. We must kill her before it's too late!

Either that or she might have just mistaken you for one of her other interviewees.

really?
oh

anyways

she's just graduated from Penn last year. She's on some commitee, i forgot what . (probably admissions?)
She used to live in st. louis, and she's in st. louis now.

HAHA

if i were an interviewer, i would say things like that, just to see if i could catch kids lying.

but if you're on the orchestra, he was probably just trying to be friendly, assuming that he got some info about you from the school.

just nail the interview, if its your #1 school, it usually isn't hard.

oh

do u think they're trying to check up on me ? (make sure i'm who i am)

because i submitted a pretty extreme resume and essay and stuff
do they want to make sure i'm honest or anything?

i dont know

after my interview, i decided that interviewers were like the greatest people, and like to think that they wouldn't

but one of my friends had an interview for the same school, and said that the guy like attacked him with unanswerable questions.

What do you like about the school?

I did a summer program there.

Why?

I was interested and decided to go for it.

Why?

Why?

Why?

= bad interviewer

HEY! Oh my goodness. Ok, tell me about your stats if you think you can get into wharton. That is my DREAM school! I need all the advice I can get. Message me chanman, with your stats!

thats the point.

i don't think i can get into wharton..... haha

My stats are

32 ACT
800,770,740 -MAth II, Math I, Bio
Ranked 6/325 . I've gotten 1 C and 10 B's. Unweighted GPA like 3.4 i think. Weighted 4.3 ( i should be 3rd if I omit orchestra class every year..its not weighted).

www.magicnotes2.siteburg.com/resume.doc

^resume.

Are you sure you want people seeing that resume? Your SSN is on it.

oh thank you billyum
thanks

yea...wow; your ssn #, your b-day = full access to your ACT scores...at the least! Just hope there's no professional bank hacker or somone up here. Dude, be smart and get your resume off the net...or atleast your ssn# and b-day; not to be mean, but maybe wharton should reconsider before admitting someone who has his ss# posted on the net...not very smart

haha. yea i am stupid

i'm just checking up on you, but it's still there! Is this some server type of thing where once you upload something it's super hard to get it off the server? Or, is this an independent server where you can load and unload anytime?

oh

it's not there anymore

it's probably there for you because you viewed it previously , and the computer put it in temporary files for quick viewing later

other ppl clicking that won't see it

thanks for checking lol

anyways, will colleges ever use an interview to find out if an applicant is really who he/she says he is? Because that resume to many seems exaggerated or maybe even lying. I'm not lying and i can strongly stand by that, but will colleges use INTERVIEW technique to figure out if i'm lying?

lol, my interviewer poped alot of random whys too, but half of them she realized I had alredy answere or was not possible to answer . I think she just did it to get the conversation going. overall my interview was very nice and understanding.

ah...so true; cool; I understand it was an honest mistake! I mean, I forget that I put my SS# on my resume! Best of luck with Wharton! I have a sibling at Penn, but not at Wharton; I hope that helps me get into Penn!!!

NEVER EVER list your ssn, driver's license or birth date on a resume, brag sheet, personal website, personal checks, or on any other document that might become available to the public.

haha thanks for tip, but i'm not asking about my SSN!! Lol

gsp, some colleges, if not all, ask you to submit your SSN and DOB on your supplemental items regardless of what they are; it helps them keep everything organized; plus, everything you send to a college is supposed to be confidential...between the adcoms and you (if you didn't sign the waiver for the teacher recs...if you did, I'm pretty sure everything is available to you but your recs) chanman obviously just forgot that he had his SSN on his resume when he posted it online...
