@4gsmom- We ended up emailing Syracuse and heard back within a few hours. They apparently have been having some issues with people’s applications (though that wasn’t a problem with us). They were “supposed” to have all the decisions out on Friday.
ActKid-did you meet with a USC counselor about transferring to USC? Is this for the BFA in Acting? We have a no for the BFA in Acting and the transfer info email (after the rejection letter) is restricting transfers from a 4-year college or university. It states that transfers will be from foreign institutions or junior colleges (2-yr programs).
@stagedoormama Thanks. We’ll probably call Monday just to see what’s up, but my D has committed to going to NYU at this point. She waited so long for that acceptance that she just doesn’t want to wait any more.
Finally heard from Ds last school yesterday. So after 11 auditions, ended up with 2 acceptances, 2 Waitlists, 1 redirection, and 6 rejections. D is considering this successful since we went into this very naïve, with no coach, relatively little training, and an admittedly unrealistic list of schools. She fully expected to get shut out and have to take a gap year. After all the ups and downs of the past few months I can’t believe we’re only a week or 2 away from a final decision!!
My D got her first artistic acceptance today. It came in the form of a redirect to Acting. But they saw her and her potential as a theatre artist and I am thrilled. Still need the academic acceptance and still waiting on two other schools, but the words of acceptance and inclusion were balm to this mom’s soul.
