Yay!!!
Follow upnto my 3/25 post, Still Nothing from Wright State, remains on the waiting list. Finally received rejection from Western Michigan, accepted at Ithaca, Manhattan School of Music Anderson MT and Liu Post. No more waiting!! Wouldn’t wish this on amyone!!
Accepted to Ithaca, rejected from WMU
@Dramamama1026, congrats on Ithaca! PM me if you have any questions.
Celebrating the Ithaca acceptance @Dramamama1026! Hoping for more good news for you!
Thank you
@Dramamama1026 Congrats on Ithaca! I’m going there next year!
Just got off Northern Colorado WL!
Hi All,
Thought I’d jump in! What a crazy process this has been!!! My daughter did a mix of MT and acting- we are visiting schools over April vacation- she will be shadowing students in the programs to help her get a feel for the vibe, so to speak! After break, she’ll have a better idea!
Accepted to LIU Post for MT, accepted to Marymount Manhattan for BA in Theatre with MT minor-
Waitlisted at Emerson for MT( advised her to Audition for acting- she didn’t listen… Grrrr) one of her top choices with tons of performance opportunities… This one stung! IF she gets admitted in July, will there be any money left? Emerson is super pricy!
Waitlisted at NYU- BFA Acting- not too sure how realistic it is to think she may get off the list…and if she does, will there be money left??? Sadly, we have had a job loss, so we think the income reduction is part of the waitlist equation–Which we feel so guilty about!!!
Couldn’t get audition slot at Carnegie Mellon due to sheer volume of auditionees and her scheduling conflicts…so that was that… Oh well!!
Syracuse- Huge snowstorm so had to cancel audition- we said it was a sign! Not meant to go there!
Fordham- (BA Acting)we contacted them in April asking for decision- they said we had not sent transcripts! I sent an email asking for clarification back in Feb with no response- with all the audition craziness and starting a brand new full time job, completely forgot to follow up with them. Bottom line- not meant to be!
Passed Prescreens for Ithaca and Pace for acting-but ultimately rejected(academically accepted at Pace, with a huge academic scholarship… Sigh…)
Acceptances for BFA Acting- Montclair State (Honors College )and Hartt ( generous talent scholarship at Hartt)
Accepted at Hofstra for BA - BFA Acting
Denied- UCONN BFA Acting, Wagner MT( Admitted to Wagner academically with huge scholarship… So frustrating!!)
Michigan BFA acting- again, this one stung!! She auditioned in a blizzard at Unifieds- woman loved her- asked her to do a third monologue( as opposed to the standard 2)… Not even waitlisted! Sigh…
BU- great audition experience- denied! That was a bummer- great program!
Drew University- Was safety bc non audition- waitlisted!!! They have a great program with impressive internships. My daughter’s a great student with impressive extracurriculars, so I assumed she would get in…guess the competition is stiff…Still waiting to hear!!)
I think the bottom line is this- apply to a bunch- and let the dice roll! It really is a crapshoot. Yes, they need talent, the extracurriculars, the preparation, but at the end of the day -it’s about if they have a connection with the auditor at that exact moment -and if the auditor needs your child’s type that year. If your child had a different auditor on the same day, that no may have been a yes!! Even if they get in, it may be one of the most expensive with a disappointing financial package!
Good luck everyone!! Hopefully, we will be making big decisions soon. And hopefully, they are the right ones!!

Same experience - word for word.
Wow- that’s crazy!!
My daughter attends Drew if you have any questions…
D got a call tonight for UW Stevens Point tonight. Offered spot for acting. She isn’t interested but they are making calls…anyone know if Temple wait list for MT is moving?
So happy that my son has made his decision!
Applied to (all music theatre, other than Berklee):
Baldwin Wallace, Berklee, Boston Conservatory, CCM, CMU, Catholic, Elon, Ithaca, Michigan, Northern Colorado (walk-in), Pace, Penn State, Texas State.
Passed all prescreens, early academic admits (and academic scholarships) at the schools that do that, priority hold at Texas State.
Accepted to: Baldwin Wallace, Berklee, Boston Conservatory, Catholic, Elon, Northern Colorado, Pace (waitlisted at Ithaca and Michigan)
Final decision: BALDWIN WALLACE!!!
I have to say that, as much as it is a blessing for kids to have multiple acceptances, it is VERY hard for them (and their parents) to choose among fantastic problems and weigh all of the factors. After my son was in his top 3 of his accepted schools (BW, Elon, Pace), he notified Berklee, Boston Conservatory, Catholic and Northern Colorado (all terrific programs, where my son would have been very happy) that he would not be attending, which hopefully opened up his spot to someone on their waitlists. Then, the visits began. We live close enough to Pace that he spent a couple of weekends there and LOVED the people and program - cannot say enough good things about Pace, and we wish everyone there the best. But, BW had so many amazing qualities, and certain factors that made it a perfect fit, and my son hadn’t visited there as an accepted student yet. Our plan was to visit BW, and if my son was still undecided he would visit Elon the following week (of all of the MT schools, Elon was the only one that didn’t offer scholarship money, which definitely factored into his decision).
After the BW visit, my son just knew that it was where he was meant to be, and where he would become the best version of himself possible. We are so grateful to be at the end of this journey, and thrilled to begin a new journey at Baldwin Wallace! BAL to each and every kid out there!
Congrats! @LifeIsAMusical that is wonderful!!! I hope your s loves it there.
Best of luck to your son, @LifeIsAMusical!
Huge congrats, @LifeIsAMusical
Should this be moved to the final decision thread?
Decisions :-/
So this was originally in the U of Arts thread. I wasn’t sure if many people were seeing it, so I reposted it here. I would be thankful for any help. Feel free to PM me.
Hi everyone! I just got news that my family will be up in Philadelphia for the Penn Relays on April 30th. It’s perfect that U of Arts is about 10 minutes away, but official school tours won’t be running that day. This will probably be my only chance to check out the school (I will be auditioning at unifieds next year) and I was wondering if any current students would be so kind to take me on a tour of the campus and maybe answer some questions I had. It would mean the world to me. Thanks guys!
