no actie..i mean in schoool..like do u do policy or something?..w/o charisma..there really is no winning..just people going back and forth...never coming to a decision or anything..

Yeah, I often do policy debates; I'm pretty much a centrist so that helps me get passionate about arguing both sides.

And yes, charisma = everything. I'm not even sure if I'm charismatic yet... it's essentially an innate characteristic and though some people can work hard to sort of fake charisma, if you're not born with it, unfortunately, you're never going to get it.

Regardless of whether I'm inherently charismatic, I still really enjoy debating. Great for exercising the mind. I think the issue I debate best is the conflict in Israel, only because I've done an overwhelming amount of research on that area. I started off, like many liberals, more in favor of the Palestinians. Now I support (idealistically) a peaceful compromise representing the best interests of both groups; in the absence of this possibility, I support the Israelis.

BTW, the best way I've found to develop charisma: humor writing. Really. Charisma is about affecting people on a personal level, attracting them to you by the mere power of your persona. That's what being a comedian is all about, of course. You know you're improving when people actually start laughing at your convoluted, esoteric rants :) I just put them on a public site and let my peers express their honest opinions, and I learn a lot that way about what they can connect with. Of course this is a small cross-section of the community, but oh well.

yeah..humor...thats it..!..u heard of gorelick?..really funny guy..and debate god..haha..

yeah i thought u debated..your mutually exclusive deal made me think about debate..hehe
