The Lion King

So everyone watched this movie when they were younger. I did as well but I have not had the swell of emotions I have had with this movie that I have had with it recently...

Yes, Mufasa's death is sad, and I always shed a tear. But the most painstaking part for me is the fact Simba changes so much over the years because of Scar's lie about Simba being responsible for Mufasa's death. He sings a song about wanting to be King, and then he doesn't want to even be king later. The part with Rafaki, the baboon, and him seeing Simba is alive really gives me chills too. Also, when Simba runs to back to the Pride Lands, it really touches me. Another part that really gives me chills is when Scar tells Simba that he killed Mufasa and Simba gets angry and relieved at the same time. He just found out his living in exile was for nothing. Also I bawl when Simba climbs up Pride Rock after defeating Scar. I don't know why, I just love the sense of redemption.

I may have looked to much into this but seriously. I didnt see any of this stuff as a kid. It's truly an amazing movie.

any thoughts? I hope this inspires you to watch the film again...

You must be a girl because boys don’t have emotions.

^Rubbish. We’re perfectly capable of feeling emotions like Hungry, Angry, Horny.

those are IMPULSES. hm but i cried what i first saw the movie and mufasa died. actually my mom made me stop watching it, because i was crying so much. I don’t know, it wasn’t like I was particularly sad though, I felt more entranced than sad. It was more devastating than sad to me. I was 4 or 5 I think. The movie was touching, once i eventually saw the whole thing. I am, for some reason, reluctant to watch it again, though.

I watched it when I was 5. After watching it, my goal in life was to be a lion. GREAT MOVIE!

hm that’s funny, the same thing happened to me, except with the Emperor’s New Groove. I wanted to be llama for the longest time afterwards.

I think most children want to be Llamas at one point or another.

The Emperor’s New Groove had to be the best Gisnep movie ever.

You read my mind. It did inspire me to watch it again :)

Wow, I wanted to be a lion too. I told my mom that in the shower when I was four and she thought I’d said that I wanted to be a lawyer. Haha

^Haha.

The soundtrack is beautiful. Oh my goodness HansZimmerismorebeastlythanalion

has anybody seen the broadway musical? i’m seeing it this spring break :)

Dude, you totally stole my quote!!! >:O

lol how sad is that that I remembered a specific quote from this forum and wanted to use it haha

weird, I was just watching Lion King / Lion King 2 earlier today.

deception…disgrace… evil as plain as the scar on his face…

I just realized Simba’s the only male in his pride. He’s a pimp.

Right, so are he and Nala, like…half-siblings? Because isn’t that how prides work?

If there’s so much I must be, can I still just be me…the way I am? Can I trust in my own heart, or am I just one part…of some big plan?

Ahh gross! LION INCEST! The Lion King’s trying to spread socialist propaganda!
