does anyone know anything about them?

yep, they’re not new but not that old (maybe 10 years) and are probably the best located apartments for uf undergrads in gainesville. you pay to live across the street from the library, there’s no pool or gym.

They’re nice, excellent location, but I think they’re expensive and I’m pretty sure they’re unfurnished.

Most notably, Looking Glass Apartments is extremely overpriced. You pay gazillions and millions to live in an apartment complex with one of the best locations relative to the UF undergrad campus. You can walk to a class in Anderson Hall in less than 5 minutes easily. However, these apartments are not luxury (which they claim to be). They are kind of junky, especially the bathrooms, come unfurnished, and are just slightly small. Like many complexes in gainesville the walls are kind of thin. I heard that management is cool about most stuff though. Oh, and the parking lot is crazy small/cramped there and I would imagine it would be very easy for your car to get dented by others.

The worst thing it has going for it is also the noise. Lots of sirens, honking, and SCREAMING… it is a nightly (esp mwf) parade of drunks and crazies from midtown outside your window in that neighborhood.

Depends on what your definition of “overpriced” is, but they are much cheaper than the brand new places that got built during the last few years on the other side of campus. I’d call most new apartments “overpriced”, because your rent has to help cover the cost of things like tanning beds and virtual golf courses, woo hoo.
