Oh dear God...who dragged this thread out of the wastebasket?

My brain is imploding. This is the exact thread that angered me into creating a CC account (3+ years ago), just so I could reply to it. As you can see, my sarcasm had not yet been very finely tuned....

Not to justify the existence of this thread by engaging in it, but... from the original post:

I'm a very flirtatious guy and I really like being around outgoing girls who aren't afraid to strike up a convo with a guy outta nowhere. After reading some profiles on MIT's site, i just don't really get that vibe from the girls...

OK, at the time, the "profiles" on the admissions site were just short profiles of students -- where they were from, what they were majoring in, activities they participated in at MIT. I know, because I was one of the people who had one. Now how, pray tell, is one supposed to convey that one is not afraid to "strike up a convo with a guy outta nowhere" in a profile with this purpose? Dear lord.

Also, people who think the mere idea of an MIT cheerleader is funny -- ha frickin' ha. Never heard that one before. Don't make me start my spiel about the cheerleaders, because just as Laura joined CC for this thread, I joined CC for a similar thread talking about the physical appearance of the cheerleaders.

Girls at MIT are, on average, just like girls everywhere else, on average. Except they can do calculus.

Having said that, Boston is home to literally over 50 colleges, most of them over 60% female. If you can't find women in Boston, I promise you, it's your fault, not MIT's.

Two big reasons I want to go to MIT are to learn mad chemistry and play mad basketball. I could care less about eye-candy (see: "PS2 games > Xbox graphics" logic of the past).....
