Hey, does anyone know if the NM corporation deletes the accounts of semifinalists immediately after they are rejected? If they do, then it would be easy for us to all check our status. Lord knows that I would sleep easier if this is the case.

^^ Oh goodness, too funny. I am such a Floridian. When we see “west coast” we think west coast of Florida, not California. I kid you not. Here if people discuss California, they say the state’s name, not the directional coastal region. (Just a little geographical humor 
@Okie2017 They don’t as I can still access my son’s account. It tells us nothing and doesn’t update with status.
Congratulations to all that have been named finalists. For those in the snow zone, another posted mentioned that NMC said they would reveal telephonically on Monday afternoon since letters to families will be mailed on Monday. Wishing you and your kids all the best!
Our principal letter came in the mail today.

@tex151 Yes. We are homeschoolers, so it is the same letter that goes out to principals with the award certificate.

(To tex, how awesome your son’s principal is so proud! Our’s was pretty meh about it. I’m trying not to picture the big deal they made over sports seniors commits, when our HS has five NMF…

Homeschool Principal here in WV . . . We just got our letter (as principal, not to the student) today! Finally!! Yay!
I contacted the school today. The counseling head said that they have not received any information from nmsc. We are in WI and 2 hours driving distance from Evanston, IL.
She said it normally comes in April.
@herewelearn Sounds like the counselor has notification of finalists mixed up with notification of winners of the scholarships.

Whoever told you this does not know what they are talking about. They should have the letter no later than the middle of next week.
Sometimes when I am pretty sure I have been given the wrong info, I will send an email reiterating their response and then asking them if they are sure the info they gave is correct. When I am really frustrated by someone who I feel is either careless, lazy, or simply incapable of understanding what I am asking, I will cc someone in a higher position.
@herewelearn S just got his yesterday at end of day, and we’re not too far away in Iowa. With bulk rate mail (I think I saw someone say that’s how NMC sends these), delivery timelines are all out of whack.
S’s school told him on Thursday they might have gotten something when he asked and sent him on a bit of a wild goose chase before he realized they didn’t know what he was asking about, so I do feel your pain. Somehow these last few days are as hard to get through as the first few.
What is it with these administrators not understanding how this decades-old scholarship competition works??? .
Our school notification didn’t arrive until Friday’s mail, so I wouldn’t be surprised if some student notifications don’t arrive until this coming Friday’s mail, with a few stragglers being even later. It’s so nerve wracking!
