Yeah, I know, hence why I said I got it wrong. Stupid me.

Oh, I was thinking more about the decomposition thing. Pretty sure KCl is incorrect, as decomposing it would require the potassium and chloride to change to their molecular forms, which is unfavorable. I doubt Fe2O3 works, either, and SiO2 is clearly wrong. Don't remember the last of the choices, but that's likely because it wasn't worth remembering.

is CCl4 tetrahedral?

Indeed it is. Four bonding domains and no nonbonding domains around the carbon atom.

i thought that question only asked about which one would melt most easily, not decomposition...

I'm pretty sure it was decomposition. I could be mistaken, though.

i'm pretty sure it's Fe2O3 since metal oxides decompose when heated, but the network solids like diamond and silicon dioxide need lots of heat to break those molecular bonds... ditto... lots of heat to make ionic bonds break too ^^

Guys... its Calcium Carbonate. Stop debating. Period.

WAS THERE ANY QUESTION THAT ASKED FOR LEAST IONIZATION IN WATER?
IF SO CAN SOMEONE WRITE IT OUT IF THEY REMEMBER?? I M CURIOUS CUZ I DONT REALLY REMEMBER CH3OH BEING THE ANSWER....
ALSO,,,,,hm...did u guys get something like answer with a number times 10^-3?
WAS THERE ANYTHING confusing to you guys?? cuz i dont remember except the above two..TYTY for those why reply~~

it was 10E-4... to be specific, 2.5E-4

B/A^2 = 1 x 10 ^-3

(.25) * (1E-3) = B = 2.5 E -4

was the answer choice like E? or something?
I remember anser had 2.5 but not sure if it had -4. was there any choice with 2.5 somewhere in the answer with coefficient other than-4?

i said methanol for least ionization in water
timeless, for the 2.5...., I also remember the answer choice being E but I think it was 2.5 E -3
since B/A^2 was 1 x 10^-2

i agree with you neutralnuke
answer WAS 2.5 E -3. I was like WHAT when i saw other people saying something different
thanks haha
btw.. that insoluble thing..do you or anyone else no the answer choices?? cuz i hab bad feeling i selected the one with MOST ionization

i know for sure that at least one other choice was acetic acid; i think the others were salts, or stronger acids or bases

i just checked online and it is methanol that has the least ionization in water

Neutralnuke
were the choices written in chemical propertis or in words? (for the ionization Q) what do you think the curve will be for this year?
New version of Chem ll that came out this year was 83-85=800

the choices were in chemical symbols - CH3OH, HCl, etc

I had always thought the curve would be a bit generous - maybe 77-85 = 800
but in "The Official Study Guide for SAT Subject Tests" (2006) 82-85 was an 800 :(. I'm guessing our test will also be around that.

I was really ****ed off when I saw the phycics curve in that book: 53-75 was 800

Wait who said theres only a 2 question curvve?...

im pretty sure it is and always has been 5 quesitons -5

THe only way College board can "lower the curve" is by making the test easier so more people do relatively well. They have a set percentage of people getting 800's roughly and if they gave a 2-3 raw point curve, a LOT less people would get 800's.
