So, my jail sentence is over, and im out of UCM now =] I'll bump this thread in a year to see if any new people are transfering, since it looks like this fourm is starting to get an inflow of little bobcats. Ill start things off:

Transfering to: UCLA
Thoughs about leaving UCM: FINNNNNNALLLLLY getting out of the a@@ crack of hell =]]]
Advice to future transfers: go to another UC, or a CC
GPA: 3.85

Transfering to: UC Berkeley
Thoughts about leaving: Why the #^$%# did I even come here to start with =/?
Advice to future transfers: Know why your going to UCM, if the reason is to not go to a ccc that may not be good enough to come here. I sadly felt like I wasted my time and money here. LOL perspectives can sure change once you go here for a couple of years =/
GPA: Not like a matters, but 3.93

Hey, cool thread. Hopefully I will be able to post my stats and thoughts after 2 years. I was wondering if anyone could elaborate on the UC -> UC transfer process (needed GPA for most UC's, extra-curricular activities, personal statement, etc.)

I was told it is a lot harder than the CC route as CC students are guaranteed transfer spots.

Also, were you guys part of the Shared Experience program?

haha yup, got one more here. I'm going back to UCM one more time for about 3 weeks at the beginning of the Fall semester to do a research project but besides that I'm done and I couldn't be happier. I wouldn't necessarily say UCM was a waste of time and money because I did learn a lot here and I've been given certain opportunities that I wouldn't have received anywhere else. With that said though, I'm glad I was smart enough to transfer because I know my degree form UCM won't mean **** even after it's accredited. I'm angry because of that fact, but at the same time I ended up ok because I am transferring to UCLA so I can't complain.

GPA: 3.87 (this last semester dropped me hard lol)

And fusionall, if I am not mistaken the Shared Experience program is only for specially selected incoming freshmen who got rejected from another UC. They must pick you to be in this program before you arrive at UCM and you are given conditions that you have to meet before your 2 years are up. Don't worry about this, just get your GPA and ECs and you'll be fine. I have also heard that the CC route is easier than the UC one but again, if you have a high GPA then you're almost guaranteed a spot. A friend of mine got into UCLA from UCM with a 3.6 so just try to keep yourself above that number and you'll be good. Let's see what else...I had a lot of solid ECs too (leadership, research, clinical). I pretty much started on those my freshman year. Once you get there, your goal should be to rise to the top at whatever it is you're doing. My personal statement wasn't anything exceptional, I wrote it during a gap in between my classes at the library and I never revised it lol. The process isn't as hard as you think, just work hard and you'll be ok.

This is most likely my last visit to this forum so just wanted to say that it's been fun and I hope I was able to help. I'll still be replying to PMs though since I get an email everytime I get one so feel free to ask me any questions you guys may have. Good luck everyone!
