***The Official 06-07 Transfer Acceptances Thread***

ashberry... bard...
it's a shame but i have never even heard of these schools :)
So did you apply to any of Stanford, MIT, Yale?

going to Washington University in St. Louis!!!

how did u get in already?

UC Irvine, SDSU, CSU Long Beach, Sonoma State, Fullerton

mgrace5, congrats! When did you send your application in? Did they notify you by email? I sent my app in about two weeks ago and I'm getting nervous.... congrats again!

thanks shaganov! My app was complete the second week of February and I heard a few days ago... I heard so early b/c transfer admissions are rolling...
they sent a letter to my house and I also got an email from a former Wash U transfer student telling me shes there if I have any questions about anything -- i´m impressed!

hey mgrace, just out of curiosity what are your stats?

I've gotten into Elon, SUNY-Binghamton, Auburn, Alabama, and UMass-Lowell so far.
I'm waiting on UMass.

I applied to the Graziadio school of business at Pepperdine, for their transfer 2+1 program. It allows you to transfer as a junior, complete 6 trimesters of upperdivison work and if you graduate with at least a 3.5 and score halfway decent on your GMAT, you can stay for one year to roll up a MBA. ;) And they have several campuses for you to choose from...Irvine,Malibu,Encino,West LA, West Lake Villiage...etc

wails I sent in my app to UNC-Chapel Hill. I hope to hear back by mid April. I also sent into ECU (East Carolina U) and NC-State.

I can't STAND it. What if I don't get in ANYWHERE? (I'm at a CC...I HAVE to get out of here!)

In any case, congrats to those who already got thier acceptance letters, you lucky dogs!

nibbles nails nervously

I GOT INTO MIAMI MY FIRST CHOICE SCHOOL TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WAY TOO EXCITED FOR WORDS!!!!!!IM IN A TOTAL STATE OF DISBELIEF!!!!

good luck for everyone else still waiting on decisions...

i like happy people. it boost morale. congratulations.

Well, today was the last day for application to go into UNC (extended the deadline) Now the official waiting period begins. Congrats on everyone who was accepted already!

doubleg329-I assume you applied to Miami as a transfer. You heard really early; was you application completed early? Are you a sophmore or junior transfer? Just curious as my daughter also applied to Miami as a transfer.

Congratulations!!

this whole "waiting" thing is about 700 times less appealing this year than it was last year, and it was pretty unappealing last year.
haha.
Ive got another two months to go

good luck everybody!

sameeee. i have to wait until mid-may

congrats on kelly jl visionz... when do you hear from UNC and UVA?

thanks pokey...i sent in my app late December and then sent out my grades and recs as soon as possible afterwards. i wanted to get out of my school so badly that I sent everything out as quickly as i could. good luck with your daughter...

i am submitting my smu application today or tomorrow. i think i will get in. they told me it takes 3-4 weeks to get a decision. hopefully i get in!

pokey - my S was accepted to UMiami yesterday, also. Looking at my records (Uber-Transfer-App-Secretary, here :p), his app was submitted 2/7. Hard to know exactly when it was complete as there have been some glitches in mail going out of Tulane/NOLA re transcripts etc.

He was accepted to Miami of Ohio a couple of weeks ago - a rolling admission school.

Many more still out there.

Congrats to all! Buck up to every one else! I agree with iplayoboe - it's harder to wait this year. And we have to wait so much longer! Some decisions not until late May - others want your reply back by May 1. Sheesh!

Interesting note: UMiami's letter said they accepted 600/2600 transfers - they called it their strongest and most competetive transfer pool ever. I calculate that as a 23% acceptance rate; USN&WR shows 721 accepted for a 53% acceptance rate for most recently reported year (not sure whether that was 2005 or 2004). I have no idea whether this is something about Miami - a huge increase in transfer apps; or something which will be common to the transfer app pool/rate at many schools.

PS He did all apps online, including supplements unless that just couldn't be done. Only one school did not offer online option, so that one was done on a (ugh) typewriter. Don't know if online apps are getting faster response, or if anyone is even doing hard cc apps anymore unless forced to.
