I think its true, since College Board usually has inconsistent information...its gotta be up there with the high tier 1 schools with regard to how competitive it is to transfer into because of the amazing location and the rising reputation of the school.

My daughter also did all her transfer applications online which is funny as she refused to do her freshman apllications online! She insisted on doing those by hand; for some reason she feared the online applications!

I believe her application to Miami has only been complete for a few weeks so I won't stand at the mailbox this week!!

The data I have for 2004 transfer students is 2,680 applied, 1,446 accepted, and 721 enrolled. If Miami only accepted 600 this year, that is a big drop in acceptances!

thanks hobofromdowntown. i didn't apply to UVA, but we are supposed to hear back from UNC around late april to early may. i'm also waiting for my penn decision which is in may and also nyu which is mid-may.

anyone still finishing up applications? due march 15...almost there..

yeah, i only finished my march 1st apps, now i'm trying to get through midterms so the later deadlines are gonna have to take a backseat!

pokey - looking at your post #45 made re re-check the letter from U Miami. It said, "From 2600 applicants, you were accepted for a spot in a class of about 600 students...". So, although my arithmetic was correct, I think my interpretation of the data was wrong. It could still be that they accepted around 50%, expecting to yield the 600 students for which they have spots. Clever wording on their part? Or muddled thinking on my part. Whatever.

yay! i sent in my essay for editing. my first application is being submitted tomorrow :)

I just got accepted into the University of Michigan. Yeehaw.

wowwww congrats! what were ur stats?!

nevermind i found it.. haha.
you have major legacy O_O anyways, good luck with northwestern!

Just found out I was accepted into Rutgers College of New Brunswick (my second choice)

Definitely happy about this

congratulations, what's ur first choice?

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

i just found out that I got waitlisted at University of Michigan....but I got into Wash U in St. Louis...whats up with that?!

did you apply to LSA at michigan?

yes, English major

who knows though.

washington u accepts 268 out of a pool of 840, which is 32%, while michigan accepts 1,298 out of a pool of 2,898, which is 45%. and these were last year's transfer stats of course.

maybe michigan just overlooked your app since they get so many.

U of M will be harder to transfer into this year due to the huge yield of the previous two freshman classes...

April 25th cannot come soon enough.

I decided not to apply to Northwestern. I thought about it a while and realized that if I got accepted into Northwestern I'd choose Michigan over it anyway. I also just recently got into the Honors program, which I attest mostly to luck.

Good luck to anyone else applying.
