The *Official* 2009 AP World History Thread

does any1 what the “emphasis” is for the comparison and comparison essay. I know last year’s was sub-Saharan Africa, but what is this years?

if the FRQ is on modern age, i’ll be a sad puppy.

@ jerry

Yeah, I’m not sure if I’m prepared. I spent most of my time studying for Calc BC and Bio… our teacher for Bio sucked so I spent the entire weekend before Bio just sitting there and reading the prep book from cover to cover.

I’m missing 8 on the practice tests and skipping none. Does that fall under “prepared”?

you miss 8 on the practice exams. Your score, w/o the essays, will most definitely be a 5.
So, you’re prepare for the MC.

to the people of this thread, how well are you prepare for the essay portion of the exam?
I feel unprepared, except for the DBQ. Reason is that in my APWH class, whenever, we have an essay for a test, teacher gives us the prompt a few days early so that we can gather the information to do the essay.

Any advice to boost my multiple choice score a few points? I’m feeling extremely insecure at the moment, because I keep getting around 45/70 on the multiple choice and I want at the VERY least a 50/70 to buffer my score a little bit.

hehehe I love how youre all stressing. I took it last year without even cracking a book open and got a 4.

out of curiosity, can anyone find me the link to last year’s thread concerning the 2008 WH test. I tried searching to no avail, any help would be appreciated :)

to xAAAx, so even though you haven’t study for the exam, did you remember enough information for the essay portion?

Haha, I was, but I haven’t actually studied at all…hopefully the FRQ’s are on ones that I’m familiar with (MC shouldn’t be that difficult).

@xAAAx: I don’t think most CCers are aiming for a 4. I’d like to think of us as more of the “5” crop.

Or at least that’s what I’m aiming for; I really can’t speak for the others.

I know many that got 5’s without studying much, and some that got 4 with studying a lot.

Depends on a multitude of factors.

And yes, I’m aiming for a 5 - and I believe I have a decent chance due to my advanced test taking skills (MC, scoring 60+'s constantly because of this).

Going to take the APWH exam in less than an hour now. Good luck to everyone else!

Just finished PR review hopefully it’s what I needed… shooting for a 5 like everybody else… good luck tomorrow!

t-minus 10 hours until my test.
Good luck everyone!
Im sure we’ll do great.

can somebody post 3 showcase essays with the point scoring ideas underlined?
