Sorry to let you know about this... all of you who have not received the email.

I called NYU just now and asked specifically about the email.
From their explanation, not ALL of the accepted students have received the email. That is true.

However, I also asked if the MAJORITY of the accepted students have received the email. Their response was a yes.

So... don't lose faith. Nonetheless keep an open attitude and accept whatever comes your way.

Only a week or so left before the real deal comes.

This may seem redundant but does this mean if you got the letter you are definitely accepted, and accepted to the school you chose? Please don’t bash me I’m trying to reassure my sister who got this letter and is not sure what to do.

ok i got the email too and i wasnt sure so i called. they also told me yes, the email means you’re in:) but today i got an email from my specific school (nursing) that said they’re still busy finalizing admission decisions and letters will be mailed soon…etc. i still got in though right? i hope so i already told everybody hehe…

besides the subject of the email was New York University College of Nursing - Upcoming Events! … i wish they would have been more specific in the email or just not have sent anything yet at all

That’s not what they told me when I called them this morning. The person there said who got the email had to do with what school you were accepted to and what part of the country you live in, and that it was sort of random who got it. He said it wasn’t a majority and not getting it doesn’t mean you got rejected. I wish they’d get their stories straight. :(

yeah i got a different answer yesterday when i called, they said that you totally still have a chance if you didn’t get the email and that it was a random list who got the email (although i dont know how random it actually is) and yeah anyways, i cant take it anymore…im dying to know if i got in!!! im going to call like 3 different times tomorrow and compare all my answers haha, id like to know whats happening

@brownbear1128 … i wouldn’t go around saying a bunch of idiots have gotten in, because from waht i can tell everyone who has been accepted on this blog are all VERY qualified, just because you haven’t gotten in yet doesn’t mean you have the right to bash other people, i haven’t gotten in yet either and i know how much it sucks, but seriously just keep your fingers cross and pray that we get in, thats all i can say, but dont go bashing other peoples accomplishments @ismashcorner : i will for sure let you know!

samedifference, with all due respect to you and the person you spoke with, I can’t see why NYU would do anything “sort of randomly.”

What makes the most sense is that the travel plans email is akin to the event-invite postcards sent in previous years at about this same time: getting it means you’re definitely in; NOT getting it does NOT mean you’re rejected… you may still receive an acceptance.

@brownbear - I wouldn’t call someone an idiot just because they don’t post stellar numbers. ACTs/SATs test more preparedness than intellect. GPA shows more work ethic than intellect. Of course you can still be wonderfully smart and have both great SATs/ACTs and a near-perfect GPA; however, those numbers don’t always correlate between the intelligent and the “idiots”.

@scorpqueen19 i applied to the school of nursing too and received the travel plans email as well as the one they sent out about upcoming events this morning. im so confused! are we still 100% accepted? :(

All I know is what they told me, and they said that who got it is random. My guess is that it isn’t- actually, my bet is that it has to do with the order your application was read in as well as the college and distance from NYU- but that’s what they said. They probably aren’t allowed to say anything else.
