From what she has told me, it sounds like they call the admits to answer any questions they may have and try to convince them to SIR over other schools like Cal.

@24luke16ā

lol, really? This is exciting. Iāve heard that Berkeley calls its transfer admits as well.

I didnāt think they were so dedicated to making sure we SIRād at their schools if admitted. Iāll feel very special if they call me if/when Iām admitted. :">

@Cayton haha yeah, they just gotta compete with the other top schools. My friend was telling me that many of the freshmen had already decided to go to Cal or some Ivy Leagues. I donāt think us transfers will be that picky lol.

Really?! Itās hard for me to imagine they would do calls, considering their prestige, it would be so exciting to get one of these calls!

Iām with @lkm291. How many people do they admit that they have time to sit down and call? And do they call everyone or only the most competitive applicants?

From past years threads i read that they do call, but i thought they called if some time has passed and you havrnt sird yet

@AnthroFlo Considering they just finished calling freshmen admits, this process surely takes some time. They start with the high priority students then work their way down the list.

@24luke16 if they are calling After they release decisions, itās not that exciting after all

I know what you mean @lkm291 . I was just saying that they are getting ready to call transfers, so decisions should be released soon/

@24luke16 yeah I know what you meant

Has anyone done research on the appeal process that they could give me some information on? How long does it take for the school to go through the appeals? How about wait listed people, how long does it take for them to find out whether theyāre in or out?

Iām asking because I have a couple friends that are transferring at the same time as me and if one of us is stuck in an appeal process until after the SIRās are due, then the rest of us have to submit a SIR without knowledge of where the others are gonna end up. Obviously itās not that big of a deal, but itād be nice for everything to work out with familiar faces on board.

Hi guys, just a curious question, when you look at your UCLA my application status, does your say āapplication under reviewā? Just wondering if anyone got any different statuses

Yes it does

@gingdee

I spoke with a UCLA rep today who said they expected to be done reviewing transfer applications in a week or a week and a half. She insisted that it had nothing to do with the date UCB is scheduled to come out with decisions (which I found odd since I didnāt mention anything about UCB) and that they had encountered issues with staffing and the massive amount of transfer applications they received for this cycle.

It seems to me like like we will be notified on the same day as last year. I really do hope she was being conservative in her estimate though and that we hear before the 25th, for my own sanity!

For those who were invited to compete for a Regents, she mentioned that if we were to be awarded the scholarship we would not necessarily find out with our admission decision. It would probably take a couple more weeks to be notified. According to her, this is as a result of the financial aid office sending out invitations considerably later than usual.

@VivaLaVida14ā

It kind of bothers me that the rep you talked to said that since reps visiting other schools have said different things. The UCLA admissions office was reported earlier in this thread to have stated that decisions will be released in about 5 days. Other reps have stated the same thing.

It seems that not even the representatives and admissions officers have much of an idea as to when decisions will be released. :(

EDIT: I did some research and found that about 19,000 transfer applications were filed this cycle. Last year, about the same number of applications were submitted .That might seem troubling and indicate that UCLA might be late again in releasing decisions this year, but two years ago, they received about 20,000 transfer applications and managed to release decisions several days before Cal, as usual, so it seems like it isnāt a foregone conclusion that they will be ālateā again this year. I hope they release decisions this weekend.

@āCayton

I completely agree. I was expecting to hear something along the lines of what I had been reading in CC. But like you mention, nobody seems to know at this point. We shall seeā¦

By the way, Iām a big fan :D. I seldom post but find your insight extremely helpful. The very best of luck!

@VivaLaVida14ā

Thank you, I appreciate the kind words, and good luck to you too!

I hope to know soon for all the obvious reason but also to know if I should get tickets for the Football Spring Showcase. Iām a fan of UCLA football but if Iām not admitted, I wonāt go and I will burn all my UCLA paraphernalia.

@RamonaFalls Wow, that is harsh considering UCLA will win the National Championship this year. Iām a big UCLA football fan as well and I will continue to support the team whether or not I get in. I will definitely be at the Spring Showcase this year.

However, I would love nothing more than to be a part of the Bruin Den!!

Does anyone know if it matters if one of my prerequisites Iām completing right now(spring)?

I have a 3.95 GPA, and Aās in all prereqs, however Calc II I might get a B, itās a prereq, and so Iām worried if Iām accepted they might add to my contract that I must get an A in calc II during the spring semester to be accepted >_>
