@lindyk8
Lol yeah you will find out. It was the username that made me think so, even though I know that’s probably just a place or something.

I’m gay and it will make the news.

@RamonaFalls Beautiful.

Sentimentality is attractive

My bad. :x

@RamonaFalls I thought your username was a scott pilgrim reference then I realized then it would be “Ramona Flowers”…

I’m pretty sure I’m gonna have a strong drink before I check my decision hah

I wish the emails would let us know if it’s an accept/deny, and not make us wait for the emails, then login, etc.

I’m just in this thread because of the 1 out of a billion chance that I get in…I hope most of yall get in though!

Are there any out of state transfers here? I’ve pretty much accepted that I’m getting rejected.

UCLA Communication Studies stats from fall 2013:
953 applied, 130 admitted (13.85%)
Of those admitted, 103 enrolled (78.03%)
Avg GPA of applicants: 3.42
Avg GPA of admitted: 3.92

Find your major stats here:

@7795ka I am considered an out of state transfer. I did my first two years at the University of Iowa, and when I applied last year, I got rejected. I had a 3.8. I was able to talk to someone to find out why, and at first he wasn’t sure why they said no, because he said my GPA was totally good enough to get in. It was because my math class didn’t transfer. So I got that this year at a CCC and am applying again!

I’m pretty confident about it this year, and as long as your GPA is good, I think you should be too! We are on the bottom of the totem pole, that’s for sure, but there’s always hope! I should probably mention that my major is Russian, so totally not impacted or anything…

I thought they like out-of-staters cause higher tuition. Out-of-staters is the new black.

I e-mailed UCLA about changing one if my planned courses for summer in hopes that they would reply with a UCLA ID number so I could do the “trick,” but as far as I can see there’s no ID number in the e-mail… :(

Do you guys think they would send admissions decisions on the weekend? I thought all schools usually sent out on weekdays, so hopefully well hear by Friday! Thats what im gonna hope for lol

I think they like out of state students more because I am an out of state transfer student when I applied to the University of Oregon. I got accepted with a GPA of 3.10 and I would have thought it would have been harder for out of state but I got in.

@Savannahbobanna Wow that’s actually really uplifting to hear. I’m glad that there are others. Unfortunately I’m applying from a four year university and my major is pre-economics. Not to mention I’m a freshman.

You know @7795ka you’re in the transfer thread (juniors).

@lindyk8 I’m aware haha. I have more than 60 units of transferrable credit due to AP exams. I even had an appointment with the cal admissions office to make sure I was eligible to transfer.

I think I’ll call the UCLA admissions office and see what they have to say about when the admission date will be. It seems that UCLA is being more and more certain that they’ll release decisions on the weekend.

I’ll ask them about that and see if they’ll stick to that belief. Let’s hope so!

@cayton, operating hours are 1-4, so it’ll have to be tomorrow. I doubt they’ll release it, but they seem confident with this weekend.
