The Official Fall 2014 UCLA Transfer Decisions Thread

you filthy addicts

@cayton dude if you’re free tomorrow me and several dozen friends are going to that new ‘secret’ bar

<a href=“LA Bar Secret Entrance - Good Times at Davey Wayne's - Thrillist”>http://www.thrillist.com/drink/los-angeles/hollywood/la-bar-secret-entrance-good-times-at-davey-wayne-s

you should come.

Also, my friend flew in from out of town today, and I got him some $65 “banana OG”, literally smelled like bananas and was purple.

@alsjfllakejfa Go away George R. R. Martin

@GreatestThe‌

I’m not old enough to drink. :P

And I should get my hands on that banana OG. Sounds like it’s dank as ****

for those using the housing trick, how did you get your 9 digit ucla id number??

@Cayton‌
LOL I didn’t think you seemed like to the type to smoke. That’s pretty funny

@Lilyblue12‌
Thank you! Comm admissions are brutal, so it looks like we’ll all need a bit of luck.

@vivianqty‌
Anthropology. I’m missing a prereq though, so I doubt I’ll even be considered. The statistics make me want to stab myself repeatedly. Impacted majors are for the masochistic. Did you apply to Cal as a Media Studies major?

@mochabubble I got my UID by going to my admission status portal. Next I clicked on ‘Contact Us’ and I sent a question to UCLA, then I waited for UCLA to email me back. When they emailed me back it displayed my UID in my email message.

I have a MMJ card Cayton! You should get one :slight_smile: Worked as a bud tender for 2 years. Good times :slight_smile:

@music1990‌

I’m a philosophy major. Of course I smoke. :)

I’ve actually been to some of my philosophy classes faded. Good times

@Zalrons‌

I really should. There’s a place not too far from my CC that sells med cards. And what was it like being a bud tender?

@OCaptnMyCaptn‌ I dont have a particular question to ask them. Should I ask anyways?? Or is it an automated email??

@cayton that sucks my dude

So I wonder if my odds of being acceptd are like
50/50, 90/10, 80/20, etc

Off Topic:
@purplewedding, GoT reference?

@GreatestThe‌

At least, 60/40. 80/20 if UCLA won’t reject you because of your pre-req in progress.

@purplewedding
I agree with you on impacted majors. that’s when it gets so competitive. still tap can be a bonus for you. how’s your personal statement and ECs? Yes I did apply to Cal as a Media Studies major.

@Cayton‌

Man, there’s gotta be some info for prereqs in the spring
right?

@mochabubble It definitely is not an automated message response, since I had to wait a few days for them to email me back. They also actually responded appropriately to my issue. As for asking them a question about your UID, I’m not entirely sure if you should or shouldn’t. Sorry

Since it may take them a couple days to email you back, it seems you’re better off waiting to see if you will be accepted or not within these next few days (if they release the decisions this weekend).

@cayton, yeah, idk how much they are in your area but around here it costs like 40 bucks. Takes like 10 minutes lol!

And it was awesome of course. My boss was super chill. Encouraged “medicating” before work. The last year I worked there I was in charge of buying flowers from vendors. I’ve seen so much dank. We closed down out of fear of being raided. The federal government man
Makes me all upset thinking about it. It felt good helping the people with legit medical problems though.

@Cayton‌

Lol that’s funny man.

By the way Cayton, you seem to know a lot, so let me ask you this. Is it always bad to be taking prereqs in the spring? Or is that just for some majors at certain schools? Like I’m applying for music at Berkeley which is a very non-competitive major for Berkeley. Is it bad that I’m still taking music courses right now? On assist, it doesn’t even give specific prereqs to take. It just says to take as many music theory and history classes as possible. Is it also bad to still be taking IGETC classes?

@nowworried‌
Look, the pie!

@vivianqty‌
I’d say my personal statement’s pretty decent. Good, but not great. ECs are a little lacking. Some volunteer work, no club involvement. Consistent full-time employment for 3 years though. I applied as a rhetoric major! Thought I’d shake things up a bit.
