Lol yeah, but I’m sure you will get in too. You got regent’s invitation, TAP, great GPA, and I’m sure you had a great PS. I hope you find out for sure tomorrow though. I have another week, but that’s a lot better than it was when it was like 23 days left. If I had to wait 23 more days now, I would die.

As far as the chancing, I’m pretty sure most people know not to take anything too seriously. It’s nice to give people your educated opinion of whether or not they have a good shot, but no one expects you to have the secret answer as to whether or not they will be accepted. For me, it’s great to hear that you think I will get in, but if I don’t, I won’t be like “ohh that Cayton told me I would be accepted” lol.

@Cayton Are you familiar with the Chemistry admit rates? I remember seeing a spreadsheet once, but I can’t find it. Also, I have one semester from UCBerk that has a lower GPA than my current one. Do they count that or generally look at upward trend?

@Cayton Thanks! I was only seeing ones from earlier years. Looking at the 9% for Chemical Engineering, I’m glad I applied as Chemistry! Kicking myself for not noticing the Materials Science combo either. If I get in, hopefully I can switch to the combo major. Crossing fingers on an admit though. With the USB, my gpa would be 3.56 Without it it would be 3.86, so hopefully that will work.

Speculating at this point, it seems. But hey, it may come out tomorrow. If not, almost certainly over the weekend. Of course, some of us could call the admissions office again tomorrow. I think they may have a definite answer by then since they won’t be open over the weekend and they seem to be certain that decisions will be released sometime before this Monday.

I seriously can’t stop flip flopping between “dude you did great, 1 B out of 71 units, you rock” and “you ■■■■■■■ idiot why didn’t you finish TAP”. Gonna get drunk.

Can someone chance me? UCLA says that political science majors need 4 political science pre-req classes, but say a minimum of 3, so it’s kind of confusing. I’ve taken stats and 3/4 political science courses.

This is what assist says: Listed below are the lower division preparation courses for the major. THIS
MAJOR IS HIGHLY SELECTIVE. At minimum, you should complete three preparatory
courses by the spring term prior to transfer.

I have a 3.92 GPA, IGETC, no TAP unfortunately, but my family is full of UCLA alumni. I’ll be at a 3.96 if I finish this semester strong, which I fully expect.

Will missing that 1 optional pre-req kill me?

Not really. You’ve already taken the minimum of three. I don’t really understand what you’re worrying about lol and I also applied as Political Science. I think you’re fine

I agree with @ocnative. Your GPA is good enough to compensate for that missing pre-req in my opinion. By the way, UCLA doesn’t do legacy admissions. :P

Yo C money, I’m looking for a new show to start watching to kill time. Should I start watching game of thrones? I looked up where “winter is coming” is from and that’s what I got, so I’m guessing u watch it. What show would u advise me to watch to distract myself for a week?
