you know what’s worse than not knowing? Knowing you didn’t get in (because of those fin aid tricks craps) and still waiting for a decision… even though you know what it is… this anxiety is almost as bad when i had to wait to see if they would accept my late application appeal… yes there are a lot of dots…

@robertshahinyan what do u mean " fin aid tricks craps"?

Well said @5nonnegotiables.
I know I will be a little heart broken if I don’t get in but part of my life philosophy is that if I work hard and smart as well as put a little bit of genuine goodness into the world that I will end up in a place that is best for me. I know its probably a bit of an unrealistic and romantic view to have but I still hold it anyway

@DescartesQ
Good luck to you! I hope you get your acceptance and can start wearing your UCLA t-shirt :D

@5nonnegotiables TRUST ME you don’t want to know especially with decisions right around the corner, If you have your UID from UCLA you supposedly check to see f they have your fin aid info, if they do you’re in. They didn’t have mine so I’m not in. just don’t do it, it’s only a few hours left lol just wait it out.

@maro0518 oh sorry, I hit the “Stop Time” button on my microwave. I hit “Clear” so it should be going normally now.

I don’t know how I’m going to function at work with decisions coming out later today. I’m a comm major and missing one prereq because it wasn’t offered at either of the community colleges I attended. Please tell me this won’t count against me. Although, given the impacted nature of this major, I wouldn’t be surprised. I’ve been lurking the forums and can’t seem to find a definite answer.

@purplewedding I’m pretty sure it won’t be held against you if it isn’t offered at your school. I wouldn’t worry too much about that.

@purplewedding

If the pre-req isn’t offered at your community college, it isn’t counted against you. You’ll just have to take that class at UCLA if you’re admitted and you enroll there.

@robertshahinyan

Tricks aren’t everything. They could be wrong.

@descartesQ I bought UCLA Rainbows sandals the summer before starting CC in hopes of one day getting admitted lol, wearing them helped motivate me a bit at times. Granted though, they were on sale (60% off) at the time.

@purplewedding
lol I love your username.
Did you mention it in your application?
If not you can always appeal. I think this will count as “compelling new information” that can make a difference to your admission decision.

@uclammg @cayton
Bless your souls.

On another note, did anyone else receive an email about the new California Middle Class Scholarship?

@globeneon
Aha, thanks! I did not, unfortunately. I only started experiencing full fledged paranoia about it this morning. I will certainly appeal if that is the case!

@purplewedding I did! But I believe that email was sent to anyone near the middle class income bracket based on FAFSA, rather than being sent to admits. Wish this was a “trick” signaling acceptance :(

@ purplewedding
Don’t worry about the pre req! I’m in the same boat (also a comm major and missing one pre preqs because it’s not offered anywhere around me). I asked around and was told that if it’s not offered they can’t hold it against you. Plus they have a list of classes offered at each school and check to see if it just wasn’t completed or if it wasn’t available (the transfer advisor at my school told me this)

Also, I’ll be at work too when decisions are out, but thankfully I’m allowed to check my phone. Hopefully I don’t freak out in front of customers haha.

@purplewedding

No problem, and no, I didn’t receive that scholarship, probably because I’m not from a middle-class family. I’m poor as ****

So happy I found this board! Knowing I’m not the only one stressing helps a little!

Last week I received an email with the following message “We are in the process of reviewing your application. Before we can complete our review and reach an admission decision, we need an explanation for the gaps in your educational history…” And a link to an online form where I submitted my explanation.

Does anybody know if this is a good or bad sign?

■■■■ yeah I’m middle class

@nickkwooddd hahah I bought the sandals too! I’m hoping they bring me luck today!

@Shugahs I think that’s a very good sign! A friend of mine received the same email from Berkeley, and he discussed it with someone in admin at our school. She said it means they basically want to admit you, but need additional info to do so. Good luck!

Hi:)
When you guys log in to ursa, what message you can see after clicking “view enrollment” under Academic? Then I put 2014 and fall and clicked the submit button.
