The Official Fall 2014 UCLA Transfer Decisions Thread

EVERYONE: Would we have to take any non-major upper division writing requirements???

@campfireweekend‌ don’t discourage yourself from continuing your awesome streak bro. We have better GPA than a lot of others but the major was super impacted. Good luck to you I’ll be partying in Santa Barbara wohooo ha jk I’m gona keep my GPA.

I also got wait listed. Does that basically mean a rejection or should i still have hope?

@rambo831 I still got UCSD, so I’m not too bummed out. Good luck at UCSB!

Are you gonna even try for the wait list?

What a ride!!!

GPA 3.5
Philosophy

Accepted to Oregon a month ago
Accepted to UCSB 3 weeks ago
Yesterday!
Woke up accepted to UCI
3pm accepted to UCD
4pm waitlisted UCSD
5pm accepted to UCLA
Soooooooooo Excited
Should have applied to Harvard :)

@campfireweekend‌ I did try but not gona keep my hopes up because they admit more than capacity so they already planned for those that would likely not SIR. I’m just gona accept my fate and if I get that email randomly cool otherwise I’ll keep going to go to a good MBA school. After all that is more important than undergrad right?

Oh my god, best way to wake up in the morning ever (after getting the ‘still under review’ status yesterday!! Accepted!! UCLA has been my dream for the longest :)

GPA 3.63

@‌Cayton

I made a drastic schedule change mid-March and in the process of another. The one I’m making now involves SMC. They’re offering late starting classes on Monday so, I’m hoping to be added into one, but if I don’t get in, that means I will be missing a course that I planned to take. Furthermore, to make matters even more complicated, I put down a course as planned at another CC, but didn’t get added.

That’s 1 class (Possibly 2) I’ll be missing from my planned courses. They’re not major pre-reqs or anything IGETC related (Finished in Jan), nor does it affect my 60 units, but I’m afraid that if they see 1 or 2 missing classes, they’ll revoke my admission.

In my opinion, I was already a borderline candidate. Im missing 2/3 prereqs, got a B in logic, and had 4 F’s from classes I took in high school.

If I happen to get rejected, I’ll drink some bleach. Hopefully the pain will be slow and agonizing since, at the very least, that will detract me from contemplating on my rejection.

As soon as @Cayton‌ announced that the system was back up again, I refreshed the page, gathered my strength, and took a deep breath: “Congratulations!” It said, “You’re #UCLAbound!” I had to take in that wonderful moment and retreated to a quiet place before sharing it to anyone (even my family.)

I cried to the point my nose started bleeding. Haha. I mean, THIS IS UCLA!

@Cayton‌, thanks so much for the information you shared with all of us. You are a blessing
a more approachable Ms. Sun!

Congrats to everyone!! Just wondering, since I’ve never been
if ya’ll had to pick between UCLA and Cal which would you choose and why? Or what are some pros and cons about both ?

After waiting almost an hour for the system to be restored ( a crash was predictable), I found out that I got Accepted! I am admitted as a pre -history major ( meaning I am going to have to complete some lower divs before going into my major). Stats: 3.83 GPA, president and founder of my J.C history club, volunteer history tutor, two years work experience. Well I am glad that my long wait to hear back from all the schools that I applied to is finally over. After applying to eight universities ( CSUN, CSUCI, CAL POLY SLO, UCM, UCSC, UCSB, UCSD, UCLA), I was accepted into all but two ( CAL POLY SLO, UCM).

I need to go to sleep. I read cal poly slo as cal poly slut and spent a few minutes googling it
found some questionable sites that piqued my interest

@back2it‌ the amount of fa is based on your financial need that’s determined by your FAFSA. It has nothing to with your major or gpa.

@robertshahinyan‌ congrats!!! :smiley:

I got waitlisted .
Major is Material Engineering. Do I need to keep my hope ? or it is just almost rejection?

@Cayton On your conditional admission contract, does it say you have to maintain the GPA you reported on your app? Does this mean I have to get all A’s to avoid losing admission status?

Rejected. 3.95 biz Econ

@GreatestThe‌ Damn man, not even a wait list option??

CA Resident

UCI-Accepted, my phone went off at 3AM with email notice, checked, got in
UCSD- 6:05PM, Accepted.
UCLA:6:32-Accepted

Whoever I had spoken to told me I would get in, so it was a bit anti-climatic for me. I got happy for a few minutes then went doing what I was doing. I haven’t told my mother yet, she was hoping I would get into UCLA. Will tell her in person, want to see her face. That will be my joy.
