Oh and I was a member of TAP, and won two awards at UCI honors conferences.

I’m asking the same thing. Does it mean I have to maintain a 4.0?

Then there’s a second provision that seems contradictory, it says I must pass statistics with a B or better. I currently have a 95% so I am not too worried either way.

This is what seems somewhat unfair though, I know someone from that class who was admitted and didn’t get that in their contract, this person also applied to UCLA with a 3.2 GPA.

@VivaLaVida14 Just took a second look and the second part of my contract says that I need to finish my IGETC courses (so, basically just stats) with a C or better…which would change my GPA, haha. I emailed them this morning. I will let you know when I hear back!

If they’re honestly expecting all their applicants to maintain the same GPA, they’re batsh** insane. Most applicants have a high gpa, so 1 B could bring it down by .01 or even .001

I dare them to uphold this stupid expectation. There will be nothing of UCLA I can tell you that much. While I may not be an arsonist, I know plenty of people that will happily turn UCLA to ash if their admission is revoked for something as petty as 1 or 2 B’s when almost all the other UC’s expect a 3.0 GPA by the end of spring.

@VivaLaVida14 where does its say your academic contract? i clicked on admissions contract and under the heading “maintain academic performance” its not nearly as specific as your contracts, infact its very vague which kind of worries me…
it says “Maintain the grade point average and complete the courses and number of units you reported in your application and in any subsequent course updates. You must be in good standing at your last institution of attendance. Also, if you attended another UC campus in regular session prior to enrollment at UCLA, you must have been in good standing when you left that UC campus. Notify our office immediately of any withdrawals, incomplete grades, drop in academic performance, or other changes to your class schedule.”

and this under “complete coursework requirements”
“Complete the following course pattern by June 2014 with C grades or better: two (2) transferable courses in English composition; one (1) transferable course in mathematical concepts and quantitative reasoning; and four (4) transferable courses in at least two of the following subject areas: arts and humanities, social and behavioral sciences, and physical and biological sciences.”

it seems so generic, is that it or am i missing a page or something?

“Maintain the grade point average and complete the courses and number of units you reported in your application and in any subsequent course updates.”

I expect a thread here in late June with thousands of people crying and moaning over having their admission revoked over 1 B

I think you got the same version of the contract as the person I was referring to. She sent me a screenshot of the page and it seemed different than mine which I found rather odd. Anyway, these are the “clauses” I was referring to:

You must maintain the GPA and complete the number of units you reported in your application.

In order to fulfill the UC Subject requirement, you must complete the following courses with a “C” grade or better: two transferable courses in English composition; one transferable course in mathematical concepts and quantitative reasoning; four transferable courses in at least two of the following subjects: arts and humanities, social and behavioral sciences, physical and biological science.

You must complete the following course(s) with a grade of B or better:
ALL REPORTED SPRING 14 COURSEWORK AT (Name of my current college) INCLUDING
(Statistics class which I made reference to.).THIS IS REQUIRED TO MEET MINIMUM
UC ELIGIBILITY AND MAJOR PREP ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS.

I don’t know, maybe I’m making a bigger deal of this than it really is.

I don’t think they’ll be THAT strict, especially with people who have 4.0’s. I think it may be for people like me who have lower GPA’s who would suffer from a few B’s or C’s. It does seem pretty generic and vague though. I’m going to call them this week and ask a few questions about it.

And that whole “turn the institution into ashes” thing is kind of creepy, nagl.

I would be totally fine with the B or higher thing since it is UCLA, but in terms of people with lower GPA’s I’m not sure. My classmate in Stats applied with a 3.2 GPA and just got the “generic” version of the contract. In other words, pass all classes with a C or better. I don’t mean to sound ungrateful but ■■■!

@VivaLaVida14 idk i got in with a 3.7-3.8 and the only way to maintain it would be to get a 4.0 which i think isnt possible cause of the physics class im taking right now, which is imo impossibly hard :l i think the best i can do i get a B worried. im gonna call them on monday and ask them specifically what they want

If your contract was not as specific I wouldn’t let it stress you out. They can’t hold you accountable for anything that is not specified, and they seem to have no problem being extremely clear as to what they want.

In any case I suppose calling to make sure wouldn’t hurt.
