@econtransfer1717 LOL

^ you really shouldn’t post that online, they’ll find you haha

@imaplealot I have the same situation going on. I’m going to call on monday.

I had those same formatting errors on my personal statements as well @econtransfer1717 . I actually noticed them about a month ago and was freaked out. However, the errors themselves seem to have had no bearing on my decision, as I was accepted. My stats were not spectacular either. I was accepted as a psych major (a heavily impacted major) with a 3.88 GPA, no Tap, and 6 w’s.

@econtransfer1717

Some people on this forum who’ve been rejected in past years have called and asked why they were rejected and were told why by the admissions office.

@GreatestThe

Thanks. I might just take you up on that offer. I’ll beat you with Akuma or Oni any day, man. :D

And the admissions office will be closed until Monday.

I really hope you get in at Berkeley!

@imaplealot

I guarantee that UCLA won’t rescind your offer of admission for getting one B.

God damn it, I have a paper due tonight, a calc exam monday and stats exam tuesday… I just can’t get around to studying.

@econtransfer1717

I wouldn’t be surprised if a UCLA admissions officer personally came to your address and smacked you around a bit.

@burntcorpse I’m assuming he was kidding about that being his appeal letter haha.

I would like to withdraw one class, and I would like to ask admissions if I can actually withdraw it without risking my admission. I’ve sent an email through the system, but it says that they will answer in 5-10 business days. The last day to drop with a W at my college is April 28th, which is 5 business days. Can I call and get an “expedited” answer based on my situation? I’m afraid to get a C or even fail… (I have a B now, but not sure for how long).

So would you guys recommend living on campus or finding a place nearby ?

I am considered an out of state, four year university transfer.

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected (strengths/weaknesses): My major was easy to get into and my GPA was alright.

I’m not going to go because UCLA is a little far, and I’d rather just stay in San Diego. Still pretty cool to get in!

@econtransfer1717 Although it would not be very wise to post this letter on a public forum, but it is so well written that I have to give you a thumb up for it. I am sure the admission officer will be very amused by it that he/she will seriously consider revoking your rejection :))

@jborj653 wow, congratulations! I guess I will wait and see what happens with the appeal.

@BurntCorpse it was 100% a joke. However, I will make sure you are the first to know if an admissions representative from one of the most prestigious universities in California makes the trip to my home and proceeds to physically assault me.

Got Waitlisted this morning.

Feeling so bad. I have a GPA of 3.94, with all A for pre-req, one B on plsc. bis-econ major…
Excellent ECs, 9/10 PS.

My first goal was Haas actually, but I feel it less hopeful to get in since I got waitlisted from UCLA
Don’t know how to spend the next 6 days.

Just wondering, how different is a waitlist decision from a rejection?

@iceburgzhang

People have been rejected from biz econ and accepted into Haas before, so don’t take it as a sign that your dream of going to Berkeley is over.

What does the wait list screen look like? @iceburgzhang

Good luck ! @econtransfer1717

@Cayton

Yes I know. I have lived in this website for almost 2 yrs… tons of research lol

@iceburgzhang i also applied to haas and feel like i have literally no chance of getting in there… (due to my poorly written essays…) getting a waitlist means you definitely have a fair chance of eventually getting in because not every admitted student will sir
