@12bank It basically gives me an option to click on. opt-in the waitlist or reject the opportunity

@Ikm291 Yeah I remember only half of applicants who got admitted by UCLA actually attended last year. However, itâs still a super â â â â â â feeling to wake up with a waitlist decision on a Saturday.

@iceburgzhang i feel you⊠but donât lose hope just yet!

I wonder why i wasnât waitlisted with a 3.95 :(

How do we change majors? (not impacted)âŠis it possible?

Waitlisted
Pre-Economics
3.75
TAP certified, PTK, Honors program completed, Worked near full-time in a business office, did sports until injured.

i had a 4.0 until last fall, when i got hurt and my grades dropped, C in calc, B in econ.

should i appeal? or should i write about it in the 7,000 character limit box on the waitlist page

anyone else waitlisted?

@Ikm291 Yes thatâs the only thing we can do right now lol. Hope both of usâll hit in Haas nxt week. :)

My application is still under review. Is that a good or bad thing?

@Moshe1010

Iâm in the same boat, but instead of withdrawing, I didnât get into a planned course, so Iâll have to notify UCLA admissions of that change in my schedule.

A lot of people are saying it wonât have an affect on your admission as long as it isnât a major prereq, one of the core classes for your IGETC (math and english), and doesnât affect your 60 transferable units.

Make sure to notify them of the change BEFORE you send official transcripts. Any surprises can lead to your admission being revoked.

@âccnude

I think you can switch during orientation day for transfers. Someone here said you can as long as it is nonimpacted and you take premajor courses if there are any.

I havenât finished all the prereqsâŠya, maybe I really shouldnât goâŠI donât want to get stuck in my other major or have to stay a year longerâŠI should get in contact with someone about this

Pretty sure this was mentioned earlier on (just canât find what page) but to those of you accepted to both UCLA and UCSD, what are you going to do about the transfer days being overlapped? I have no idea why I thought UCSD had two dates, thus allowing me to visit both campuses.

@ccnube

Iâm planning on switching too!

I looked at some of your posts and youâre a Spanish major so, if you decide to change your major, itâd most likely have to be within the school of humanities. I heard itâs easy to transfer within a department/division, but outside of it? I donât knowâŠ

Donât feel discouraged! Go to UCLA, take some of the classes of the major you want as electives, and if you want to make the switch, you can do so by going to their department and asking their academic advisers.

Edit: I just realized I called you ccnudeâŠsorry

@cayton so assuming I get rejected from ucla and berkeley⊠any idea on what to do? Seeing youâve been on this forum for years, would taking a gap year do anything? I just have no idea what I would do.

No problem, and ya, I applied as a Spanish major. I will consider, but it is seeming like I would have to fight for my life there (metaphorically)⊠- @BurntCorpseâ

congrats yâall!

On another note, is anyone else slightly discouraged by their financial aid letter? Anyway of trying to get more aid now that we are admitted?

@GreatestTheâ

I guess you could just reapply next year and apply to some safety schools just in case you get rejected again Thatâs what Iâd do. Do you have some safety schools that accepted you this year?

@tinydancer13â

Itâs not set in stone. Itâs just a guesstimate based on what you provided on your fafsa. I think they finalize the amount you get once you submit your SIR and/or verify your FAFSA with irs links to yours (and/or parents) tax forms.

I havenât been able to link my taxes with the irs through fafsa, so I hope theyâll give me more once I do, but I should be grateful for what I got

Just made an account to post my stats!
