it makes me feel better to know that a lot of other people are also procrastinating. it seems like everyone in my school sent out apps like a month early...

^ Same here! I feel like such a slacker!

My bf and I have set a goal to send all this in by Sunday...but I still have 5 entire essays to write, and my common app essay still needs to be finished. Except now I'm not so sure if I like it, and might start over... :P

and i just got beat down in another forum for saying this but i agree!
why (whatever school that asks this bad question)? wth idk!! heres why:
i significantly underachieved academically throughout my high school years so even though im applying to the schools i really want to go to, i will not be getting in so you are my realistic choice that i have more confidence into getting into. so basically why? because your easier and safer! and to you i am not an underachiever.
somehow i feel that is not what they want to hear.....

ROTFLMAO

I just need to write two essays and I'm set. I don't even really care if their great or not, but I just can't think of anything! u,u

That's how I totally feel! My common essay is perfect! But my supplements are mediocre at best and the ones I'm doing right now are probably going to be just plain bad. I can't write anymore. It's like I used all the creativity I have gathered over my teenage lifetime all up on my common app essay... and now I am depeleted. I am going into the negatives here. It's not good for my health.

I sent my Yale app at 11:59:43 for EA. I was freaking out.
I am done with the application process so if anyone needs help, PM me and I can probably edit it for you if it is under 1000 words.

I was actually once in the same circumstance while I was trying to finish my commapp to Wabash for early action. The Dec 14th night, I kept trying to make best use of every minute until 11h30 when I suddenly got disheartened in writing the final paragraph and resentfully went to bed

I sent my EA essay a week before Nov. 1, but after getting rejected, I've lost the momentum to do essays. The good/bad news is I was planning on using the EA Commonapp essay, and then realized how crap it was and why I was rejected.

If this was a myspace or facebook group I would so join. Anyway here's my story.

My parents told me if I didn't finish my college apps by the beginning of Thanksgiving break, I would be grounded during the break. I didn't finish.

My parents told me if I didn't finish my college apps by the end of Thanksgiving break, I would be grounded until the end of the school semester. I didn't finish.

My parents told me if I didn't finish my college apps by the end of school semester, I would be grounded for my winter break. I didn't finish.

So yeah I've been grounded for about two months now.

I just submitted two today, but I still have to dig up a graded paper to go along with my mt. holyoke supplement. gahhh
I have two more to do by Jan. 1 and one to do by the 7th.

someone should totally make a facebook group for this!
i have 10+ as well! ><
what a way to spend winter break..

16 "Short Answers"

6 Essays

=) Did I win?

Hahahaha omg what were we doing in the summer??

Gotta question - when they say Jan 1st is the deadline, can we send it in on that day?

Every minute counts for us.

Bump for a great thread :P

i was hoping this weekend, but it looks like it won't be happening!

omg,
I LOVE YOU GUYS <33
i have like 5 more essays and 20 short answers
and i didn't even start my common app essay yet.
ugh

Wow, I just got beat LOLOL

I have to finish about four more supplements by January 2nd. Then there's another four I need to finish not too long after that (January 15th and February 1st).

The fear that something would go wrong right before I turned my applications in became real last night when our entire city lost electricity. For fourteen hours. My laptop only lasts for about an hour or so without the power cord, so I decided to write out my essay questions on paper and start working on them. What better a time to do real work than when you have no distractions right?

I thought this would shake me into doing my applications, but so far, I've written about one and half essays. The one that I finished, I'm pretty sure I want to scrap.

AGH.

Tomorrow, I'm definitely going to Border's to work. Oh, yeah, that's a suggestion for all of my fellow procrastinators-- go to a bookstore, a library, any place where you can take away all of your distractions to do your applications. I finished some a while ago like that in a few hours.

Super Hug.

I sent in an ENTIRE SUPPLEMENT on Friday night. One supplement down, three to go by January 1st.

BUT BEFORE I SENT IN THE SUPPLEMENT:
My laptop began freaking out and I was thinking, "Please don't let this be a virus."

Turns out there was one, but my antivirus software completely resolved it by the night. Phew.

this thread cries for a bump

I have spent all Christmas break working on my essays. 12 hours a day.

So far, I'm only done with 1 essay. So, I guess I'm not a procrastinater; I'm just terribly inefficient. Without a doubt, this has been the worst break of my life. I truly hate essays.
