I was always skinny growing up.
In 10th grade I got some curves.
Second semester junior year I stopped exercising and started eating very unhealthy foods.
The result: I've gained about 12 pounds in a little less than a year.
I can barely fit into any of my bottoms and have lost a lot of confidence because of it.
For the past month I have gone on and off diets in hope of losing the weight, but I need some motivation.
So here is a thread to help inspire anyone else on CC that wants to get fit. :)

I'll talk to everyone after I do my crunches.

I've been on a diet since the beginning of the year -- lost 20 pounds. Now as a junior I'm about as heavy as I was at the end of freshman year. Which makes me rather happy.

I was very thin growing up (5'6 and 103 lbs freshman year) without ever being on a diet. Sophomore year I gained 20+ pounds--no curves or anything, just fat--because I was addicted to Starbucks frappucinos and never exercised. Junior year I became a vegetarian and got really into working out, which helped me lose 13 pounds in half a year, leaving me at 110. I'm sure I'm gaining now, though, because I keep stress eating and have no time to exercise. :(

I'm not really super in-shape, and I have a love-hate relationship with myself, but overall I think I'm not fat, just normal. I look pretty good, and I know I'll never be movie-star thin and that's fine. I need to get myself to the gym more than I do, but so do most people.
One thing I do that helps me stay healthy...

If you NEED to snack or eat when you come home, make sure it's healthy. Don't dive into a bag of chips, but eat grapes, an orange (now that mandarins are in season), cheese and crackers (low-sodium!!), or a handful of almonds or pecan halves. Mmmm.

Ok, I am skinny , I play sports year round (track and soccer).
Sure I look fine on the outside, but on the inside I am sure my **** is falling apart. I eat like crap, I don't even remember when the last time I had something green or even remotely healthy. I recently stopped the other bad influences in my life, but I just can't get my self to eat healthier. I love the really fatty stuff, its just so gooood. Any suggestions?

in ms i was a stick...i was like 105-110 and 5'7-8...but i eat unsensibly..i ate a lot of junk food the summer b4 8th grade the nurses at my sleepaway camp(it was my first yr) kept saying im to skinny(i came in often to the nurses office b/c i had a cold most of the session) To the fact that at lunch(The nurses r there to give u ur meds) A nurse asked my counselor to give me an extra cookie when i got to my bunk my counselor said i was told to give u this i appreciated it b/c by the time i got to the cookies they were all gone until i realized y they gave it to me..i told my counselor: I MAY LOOK SKINNY BUT SERIOUSLY U HAVE SEEN ME EAT I EAT QUITE A LOT!

shortly afterwards i gained 20 lbs randomly i got sick had horrible headaches grew 1.5 inches and had other problems that november i was diagnosed w/ a brain tumor ive never gained those 20 lbs back ive been told the reason is b/c eventhough the tumor was benign...it was never completely removed and its only being controlled not stopped that i probably never be back to normal ive had one brain surgery to remove(this one was completely removed) another brain tumor on the other side of my head none of these were maligmant..(cancerous)

It says I should only eat about 1500 calories. I'm really bad at counting. What do you do if you eat a large salad with lots of different fruits and vegies in it?

Could you describe what you eat on a 1500 calorie day

Sugar-free ice cream. Sugar free candies. Sugar free everything. Lean Cuisine. Boca Burgers (70 kcal). Hot Pockets. Subway turkey-breast-and-ham sandwiches (290 kcal), McDonalds icecream (150 kcal). Eggs (70 kcal each, perhaps two for breakfast). Fat-free Pringles (5 kcal each). Diet Coke. Mint chocolate chip meringues (30 kcal). 5-calorie-sugar-free energy drinks. I try to eat processed junk food so I know how many calories I've eaten, but if you type in "calorie counter insert food here", typically the internet will give you good estimates.

Counting is not that hard if you write how many calories you've eaten on your hand and round to the nearest ten. Or if you're having trouble round to the nearest fifty. My dad's on the same diet and kinda just estimates -- I have no clue how.

Fruits are actually relatively high in calories compared to sugar free ice-cream. An apple is roughly 80 kcal. Veggies are nearly zero. A McDonalds chicken salad is 240 kcal, I think.

Go vegan... you'll drop pounds effortlessly (assuming that you don't just eat chips all the time or something). I lost 7 pounds in two or three weeks after I did, and I was still eating the same amounts, just not meat/eggs/dairy. Saving the animals is just a side benefit. ;)

my friends and i decided to start eating better and exercising a lot more. we figured that we are going to college next year and we will have much more freedom in terms of when and what we eat. none of us are really unhealthy or overweight or anything..and most of us were or are athletes. but we are starting good habits now so that we dont gain weight and become blobs next year. we have kept it up so far and we are very proud of ourselves. =).
