Health/Fitness/Weight-Loss

I always feel better and do better in school when im working out and eating healfully. Does anyone adhere to any health/exercise regimen? What types of foods/diets do you follow? Any particular forms of exercise you like? Take any supplements? Do any of you have any weight lose/health tips?

i go to the gym, and eat organic food. huzzah!

Note: instead of eating frozen garbage, i eat amy's organic frozen stuff. wooot.

I swim for a club swim team, two hours a day and six days a week, not to mention the yoga/crunches/other exercises our team makes us do along with the practices. It helps me feel and look great, but the most important thing is that I can eat all the crap I want! :D

No, I still eat healthy. Favorite snack is apples with peanut butter, but I'm never afraid to accept a piece of chocolate cake.

I think the thing that helps the most, though, is getting sleep.

I run track, lift weights for track, and eat for track.

I'll eat anything that isn't classified under junk food, or has too much total fat. No cookies or cake for me :(. I replace those with protein bars, popcorn, fruits, and chips made with sunflower oil.

btw, running for at least half an hour just after you wake up is a great way to lose weight. your metabolism hasn't kicked in yet, so your body compensates by using your body fat as fuel.

omg you guys make me feel so bad.

Last year I was okay but this year I gain too much weight. I eat every time I'm stressed out, and I dont have time to work out due to the amount of work I have every day (Jr year)

Weight Watchers FTW.

I've struggled with my weight all my life. My mom has tried just about everything out there, and we've discovered that the reason Weight Watchers has been around so long is because it WORKS.

Basically, they give you a certain amount of points to take in per day (You get more if you exercise), and every food is assigned a certain points value. Once you reach your limit, you can't eat any more that day. It teaches you what's healthy and teaches you good habits, and you lose weight at a healthy pace (I've never really lost more than two pounds per week, but when I really do well I lose weight consistently).

^Oh, I need to get on that. My weight totally yo-yos. When I'm really stressed I tend to either forget to eat or pig out on comfort food, so my metabolism is probably shot. Right now I'm in the waxing phase. :(

I work out 5 times a week and eat whatever I want, ice cream, cakes, chips, but always with good amount of fruits and vegetables.

Track ftmfw.

I think that during college application time was when I was really tired, and my I lost most of my muscle mass. It's amazing how stress can take such a great toll on the body.

Swimming is the #1 exercise! There is less stress on the joints and muscles, it's fun, and practice is obviously a great way to protect yourself from any drowning incidents. Pick a pool with cute lifeguards, so you can use the fact that they're paid to watch you to motivate yourself to do better. ;)

I exercise at the gym around 3-5 times a week for around an hour. But honestly my eating pattern is horrible. One day I'll be healthy, the other I'll eat crap.

chew gum to get over cravings......you dont have to eat less (but dont eat more) if you excercise.

I run six times a week (not on Sunday). It helps me with stress... and it also makes weight a non-issue (plus, I'm skinny anyway, so worrying about my weight wouldn't be healthy). Then, I eat healthy things (fruits and veggies, whole grains...) because they make me feel better physically, but I don't count calories. If there's a plate of cookies in front of me, I will eat all of them.

I would work out, but I a)don't have access to any equipment other than my own set of weights (3, 5, and 8 lb. dumbbells), and b)I am too weak to do even the most basic things at the gym. I can bench a 45 lb. bar on a good day, and pull-ups are basically impossible. It's a vicious circle.

I eat everything...
Weigh like 150lbs @ 5'10"
Soccer a couple of times a week... Skiing sometimes, its not Soccer/Track season atm...

I love my metabolism

I work out everday... It sucks I wish I didn't have to do it.

I basically live off kashi, hummus, ice lattes and fruit. It works.

JB, just go on runs. You don't need a gym membership for that.
You can also do sit-ups and push-ups in your room. If you do them every day, you'll get stronger.
