Anyway,

Anyone else ?

wow congrats :)

^^Congrats! :)

congratulations intemister! :D

Congrats intemister!
And did the LUMS test go guys (whoever took the SSE test)? Mine sucked lol.

@441: that is so true … if u are above 2200on your SAT 1 and above 700 on your subject tests you dont need to worry abt SAT scores … essays and ECs are more important…

@intermister: Congratulations!

@freako: mine didnt go that well too … I rocked chem bio and phy … but could nt do all the questions on Math :(

Lol allright man It makes sense for you and 2400 sat 2 makes sense for me(and a lot of other guys on CC) just like reporting scores out of 1600(CR,W) makes sense for a lot of people and 800 cr is impressive even as a native speaker ask any admision officer.

^i was just trying to correct you, if you’d rather stay misinformed then so be it.

Thank you everyone. I still haven’t sent my UCAS. I’m hoping for Edinburgh, Nottingham, St. Andrews and Yorkshire. Am I dead?

congratz intemister
about the UCAS, although the 15th Jan deadline has passed, you can still apply in the UK for most programs apart from medicine, the deadline for which was 15th Oct last year I think. You can either apply through your school or privately. Note, for private applicants a referee is required…
My friend applied through my school like 10 days ago but I haven’t heard he has got any offers uptil now…
As for me, out of the 5 I applied to, I have got offers from 3:-
Imperial Awating :frowning:
Manchester 2As and 1B
Warwick Awaiting
Bath 1A* and 2As :open_mouth:
Bristol 3As

How was LCAT everyone ?

Much better than the SSE test, at least.

wow you must have raped it  … and mine didnt go too well… it turned out to be even more difficult than the SAT :(

How did the SSE test go, guys? Not good for me. Advanced maths was lengthy. Time passed in a flash. Couldn’t do 7-8 questions :frowning: . If only there were 5 more minutes, things would’ve been different.

That is all what we need, 5 more minutes. I don;t know about you guys but after taking the SAT thrice, I couldn’t possibly bear (i can’t spell) the LCAT or whatever. I have already applied to 14 colleges in the US and am thinking of 10 around the world + the 5 on the UCAS.

^so what was your final SAT score ?

waisay I just noticed something most of us here have perfect unweighted GPA’s unlike most of the US applicants who dont have such GPA’s but certainly have a lot better SAT scores.

so having better GPAs is that better than having a better SAT score or … ?

You mean GPA in terms of O/A level grades? yeah, i’ve talked about this before. i think about 20% of the students get straight A’s, and then these 20% end up applying to the top schools. so, basically, the only way to distinguish amongst them is through SATs and ECs. i don’t think people with B’s and C’s apply. plus, you can’t deny that the O levels at least have become somewhat of a joke. so, straight A’s there is somewhat of a given. opinions?

i didn’t take it but most of my friends said it was “ok.”

did anyone here apply to claremont mckenna? i’m really starting to look at it as my first choice. :)

^^yeah a LOT of students are starting to get straight A’s and I think the US colleges are beginning to notice that too … no wonder Stanford didnt take Ali Moeen with 23 A levels!

and that new kid who got 23 A’s in o levels this year… I mean cmon!

so basically our 4.0 GPA does not hold as much importance as an American Highscool 4.0 GPA ?
