The official Pakistani Thread for the class of 2015

For the girls on here, your parents are letting u come from Pakistan to America alone? O.o

No, of course not! We take Camels with us when we go abroad. They are excellent protectors. Our parents never mind us going with Camels. I am being sarcastic of course. Girls in Pakistan go abroad all the time. Actually, most private school graduates in Pakistan opt to pursue further studies in either the UK, the US, Canada, Australia or Malaysia. In fact, my sister is studying abroad in her second year, and most of her friends went abroad as well. It’s really not a big deal at all.

I finished all my Canadian applications today! So happy! (: (: (:

[YouTube - Tennis video…](<a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube) … I just sent this today to all the tennis coaches of all the uni’s I have applied too… Dunno if it will help or not… as I am not applying as a tennis recruit but still as tennis is one of my major extra-curricular… I thought this might help ?

i LOL’ed at the comment under that video.

not bad though. if you’re inquiring about whether it’ll help you or not, well, that’s dependent on the following:

a. if there’s space left on the team (being this late in the game, this is a huge factor).
b. what your national/international rank is.
c. what tournaments you’ve won
…among other things, but you get my gist.

@Hafsa, where in Canada did you apply?

I am not exactly applying as a tennis recruit but still I eventually want to become a part of the team one day so if the coach likes me now along with my academics do you think it gives me a greater chance of admission?

and yeah I am in the National top 20 juniors… ( or was… havent played any tournament for a while now )

idk, depends. but you can probably answer this question better yourself.

that should help.

I wasn’t making fun of you lol. I’m paki, only born and raised in the US. I can’t be out after dark and dorming is obviously out of the question. My dad just says he’ll move wherever I wanna go.

cant focus on classes … the wait is killing me!!

@mathsfreak:what school and city are you and your friend from? Oh and I applied to NYU but no invitation :/

No one answers my question about schools in Dina?

Hey people… did anyone apply to Prnceton and get a call for an interview??
damn, USC still hasn’t accepted/rejected/wait listed me :/

^I already had my interview on the 12th, but it was on the phone with an alum of '06 based in New York. She said there was a shortage of interviewers in Pakistan so they had to make do with phone interviews. A couple of my class fellows have also had phone interviews with Princeton.

UKDude84, i would answer your question but i have no idea about schools in Dina.

anyone following the world cup? all the matches have been pretty boring so far and i can’t stand watching a bunch of uneducated crooks pretending to compete honestly.

so you cant stand them because they’re uneducated(which is irrelevant to their profession) or bcz they’re crooks(which, in my opinion, they only assume themselves to be) or bcz they are pretending to compete(which i dont think they are)?

^ like.

so there really IS something called school bias. You know, how, let’s say, an LGS student is somehow better than a City School or Beaconhouse student even if they both have similar stats…

Oh and I DID participate in a few intl writing comps. Got fair positions in a few too.

and I know a guy who applied to Princeton and got interviewed by a lady over the phone.

@ the guy who posted the tennis video : what city do you live in? :)

education isn’t irrelevant to anything.

you make no sense here.

you can think what you want but facts don’t lie: [Sydney Test ‘was rigged’ | Herald Sun](http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/sydney-test-was-rigged/story-e6frf9if-1225911458919)

^okay. you know everything. and you wanna take things personally? take this personally: you seem to be incredibly dim witted so i won’t even try to talk sense into you.

you’re absolutely correct. i’m the dimwit and you’re the genius. dimwits argue with facts; some idiots, huh? geniuses ignore facts, view every argument as a personal attack, and fulfill their pathetic lives by watching a group of uneducated, village-idiot clowns parade as ‘athletes’.
