The official Pakistani Thread for the class of 2015

fact 1: i dont fulfill my pathetic life by watching a group of uneduacted, village-idiot clowns parade as athletes. (but if saying that and other stuff like that makes you happy then you may say it.)
fact 2: people who are born in villages are less fortunate, so geniuses should call them uneducated, uncouth village-idiots.
fact 3: educations isnt relevant to everything. many people live successful lives and do good in the world without being college educated. i think you would yourself know many examples.
fact 4: geniuses dont assume other people to have taken things personally, as this is only a forum, and nothing serious.
fact 5: what i meant to show by ‘they assume that they are crooks’ was that they are not so intelligent people and what they think might decieve other people doesnt actually decieve them.
fact 6: not all matches are fixed.
fact 7: not everything posted on the internet is true, stop taking things found on websites as facts. the credibility of material posted online is oftentimes questionable.
fact 8: dissing other people is easy. restraining to diss others is difficult, especially when they say something against you.
fact 9: fact 2 is me being sarcastic.
you should stop looking down on others.

Wow, everyone needs to calm down!

I applied to McGill, Queen’s, UWO and U of T in Canada.

That is insane, meezie! The “living independently” part of College is what I am looking forward to the most. I honestly can’t imagine not being able to do that.

Did anyone get an interview for Yale, Brown or Columbia? I have only had one with Princeton. This is depressing. ):

i had one for brown. but that was in november.

i have yale interview tomorrow and princeton interview in this week.

@hafsa: wasnt mcgill’s deadline 15th jan?

@mathsfreak
What city is your friend from? Because I wasn’t aware Harvard even gave interviews.

harvard does interview in pakistan, but only if they require more information, i.e. if they’re interested in knowing more about you. that obviously implies a sort of pre-screening so not all applicants will get interviews.

@qwerty, good list. and no, i wasn’t looking down on them for being from poor backgrounds; you misunderstood me. i just think that, collectively, they’re about the biggest waste of oxygen on this planet. and, thus, following their matches is only an insult to one’s intelligence.

she’s from lahore. And harvard does interview those students who make it through the first round of application reviews

Oh I see. Thanks you two.
But what if you don’t get an interview? Does that mean your chances are terribly low?

I agree with the calm down parttttt. And haha yeah it’s not even an option to be independent. I think it might be cuz he’s Tablighi? Idunno. Or cuz like he sees things here.

I had my Princeton interview last Thursday, but when the interview called me on my phone I asked him to take my interview on skype :slight_smile: It was loads better. I think it went pretty good. My MIT interview, on the other hand, a personal interview by an MIT alumnus.
BTW, I also applied to McGill. :smiley:
and guys, you should cool it now :/

are you talking abt me and pakipower? cz we’re cool.

@mathsfreak: The deadline to apply online to McGill was Jan 15th. I sent my documents in the beginning of Feb to all the schools, and finished up the three required essays (three of the programs required them) yesterday.

@omairwasti: That’s great! :slight_smile: What’s your top choice in Canada? I personally really like U of T’s collegiate system. :D

@meenzie: That’s unfortunate. I have a few friends who have religious parents too, and they always complain about not being able to go out while their brothers can do whatever the hell they want. It’s absolutely ridiculous how hypocritical Pakistanis are towards women. :(

^a lot more bad things can happen to a girl who hangs out as often as an average boy. you should realize that. parents arent just being religious, they care about their children. dont forget its pakistan where we live in.

@CatJedi… I am from Rwp/Isl …

and so not getting an interview from Harvard means you have now no chance at all ? Not that I had any before but still I was waiting for 1st April… you never now … something unexpected might have happened but this is not good!

@qweryt11… my bad then :smiley: cuz I haven’t checked in the forum for a couple of days. If ur cool, then its okay, my bad :)

@SpEeDyZ… well not getting an interview from Harvard doesn’t mean that there isn’t any chance… :confused: Hope for the best :D

@HafsaRox, well, McGill is the only Canadian university I applied to. Although I would have loved to get in UofT… sigh… btw, I know there are still like 9-10 days until the OUAC’s deadline. Can you tell me how long it took to you to complete and submit the ouac application? I just might apply to Waterloo and UofT :smiley: Thanks

btw, a close friend of mine got his acceptance from McGill like last week or so. His chosen major was the medical sciences or whatever their medicine program is named…
Now he is just waiting for his rejection from Cornell’s Med school and Agha Khan’s too and off he goes to Canada :D

600th post!
