congrats pakipower. now you can send a letter to all the colleges you applied with your updated stats and ECs, and include posting the 1000th post here in it.

I learned basic C++ programming after watching tutorials from utube; i will continue it after exams now.

^^ i’m on it.

thanks.

Congrats paki on your great acheivement … I bet the Ivies will be pleased :D

@pakipower: i dont think i’ll enlighten you if you didnt get it that way. cuz i would have to say it out clearly to explain what i meant fully. and i wont like to do it here. but that doesnt matter, you got the message, which you didnt like much i think.

^ lol, no that was fine. PM me though, if you want. i’m legitimately curious to know what you meant by that.

oh man seriously. if it was just a friend(either male or female) i wouldve written just friend and nothing else with it. get it now?

@Hafiz57: yeah, most probably i would too. i might even minor in it if the department of the school i end up at is decent enough.

^^ nopes, still don’t get it.

but don’t give up on me, oh great sensei, for this grasshopper is a rapid learner.

okay then pakipower. now i totally think that you’re playing with me here.

blah, ok enough with the jokes now lol.

i was wondering recently: is it just my school or does it seem like half of your graduating class will end up in Canada?

It certainly seems so, but for my school it goes like this:
half in LUMS
half of the half left in Canada
half of the half of the half in LSE
Rest all go to random places with around 15 people ending up somewhere decent. [read: US+UK+Abu Dhabi?]

for the record, qwerty, i still don’t get what you mean. but it would be in the thread’s best interest if we all just move on (and keep our personal relationships outside of the realm of discussion). :)

^aww you included a " ", look who’s being an emoticon-obsessed, anime-loving, narcissistic-friend-adoring, frequent-facebook-posting 15 year old Japanese girl.

my school (extremely rough estimations):

quarter in canada
35% in lums or iba or the other top schools here
quarter in the UK
10% in HK, malaysia, middle-east, australia, etc.
5% in the US

of the people i know who went abroad, like 80% went to canada.

Anybody here with mit as his/her top choice?

@qwerty: why are you surprised? i thought everyone here already knew that i was Uchi Kikiyori, big time Japanese pop fan and Justin Bieber lover, from Okinawa, Japan. did my hello kitty references not resonate with anyone?!

frankly, i’m appalled with the amount of ignorance to the japanese female teen pop culture on this thread.

@PAKI: ^^CHUSSSSSSSSSSSsssss!!

why do you guys think Canada’s so popular? i’m always a bit surprised to see so many people go there. not that it’s bad or anything. it’s just a bit startling.

@khurram: i didn’t even apply. mostly because i have no international science awards and i don’t care for schools with quotas (and i’m not even an ‘international’, so yeah it’s like my only principled stand).
