^ Oh I’m not too sure about that myself Given all my accomplishments and what not, still there’s my transcript from the last year that can get me whooped big time so I have kinda lowered my hopes right now.
Plus like everyone says all these admission processes are crapshoot, so who knows what might happen. Maybe something good or maybe not.

And about that, they sent me an notification that they didnt get the SAT scores and I replied back with the date when I had sent the scores. They didnt reply nor I tried to check, so its kinda half my fault as well. Now I’m double checking all my applications just to be sure that everything is in order.

^ most places I applied to have, Northwestern, not that I know of. I mean I didn’t get email or anything of that sort telling me that there was a portal or any way to keep track of my application.

^There were two people from my old school Roots (one for Anthropology and the other for Politics, Psychology and Sociology) but as far as the 800th anniversary scholarship goes, I heard from a friend that some person from LGS got it. Not 100 per cent sure though.

So, I see nothing has changed in Britain. I had a brief discussion with my son about studying in England. He wanted to know how many new hi-tech firms open in England each year? Then, asked about the diversity in British schools.

In the first post of this thread.
They missed all of LAS (lahore american School) admissions.
This year we have had 1 to Oxford, 1 to University of Bristol and 3 to UBC to name a few.
Last year we had students go to U Penn.
2 years ago- Harvard, Yale, Carnegie Mellon, UPenn, MIT acceptances- to name a few- were received.

Ok, speaking of crapshoot apps, here’s another weird thing that has happened. Princeton just requested my expected-A level grades from my counselor (which is my ex-school’s headteacher), when I’ve clearly mentioned everywhere I’m a gap year student. She doesn’t know a thing about how much I’ve studied or how prepared I am…which has left me wondering…what should I do?

She’d happily write in ‘A* A* A* A’, but there’s absolutely nothing to back that claim up except that that teacher likes me! What do you think I should do? :S

PS- forgive me if you feel I’m overthinking things here, but with one month to decision-day…everything’s pretty much a major dilemma!

One person from LACAS, a very good friend of mine, got an offer from Imperial College.
usamatiwana: Why don’t you go over to gmail and give Northwestern a call? Calls to US landlines from gmail are free. I called Luther, Calvin and Berea and asked the questions that I had. :)

@gohar, Keep us posted on the outcomes at your school. We have a poster PAKISTAN2012 from your school, who comes in from time to time. Are you also applying for admission this year?

@ leo118 don’t worry.it’ll work out good luck.

If it ties in with your past performance, I don’t think there’ll be any issue! It’s not like its conditional offers where you HAVE to meet, if your final result is roughly that, no one will have any issues . And they asked it from her nah, so they do want her opinion.

okay so after deliberately choking me to death by that withdraw notice from Northwestern, this is the reply I get for my email and such a relief it is, Dear Usama,

shahan, that was the plan, I thought to call them tonight once the office timings start, and calls from gmail used to be free, not anymore, though they are still free if you are logged in from within US/Canada (can be done even from Pakistan or anywhere using a proxy). There is an alternate app to call anywhere in US/Canada landline or cell, NetTalk, its available from the both android and apple app store for free so yeah everyone who needs to call in for free, they should use this app :P

Aaaah, really glad to hear you got our of that hassle unwithdrawn, Usama Bet they skimmed through your file, saw your SAT score and went like ‘WOAH, what in God’s name have we done?’ haha XD Never hurts to be positive XD

Which is why…thanks once again bluelove for easing my tension a bit. I think I’ll ask her to write in with whatever ‘alphabets’ she feels like putting and mentioning the part where she doesn’t have even a tiny clue if its a reliable ‘estimate’, except for the consistently ok grades I’ve had these past couple of years xD

hahaha, well I hope they actually feel that way
btw just a side note, calm down already, you are over thinking even the tiny little things Plus about what you mentioned that Princeton asked for the expected grades, I’m pretty sure they might have asked for the International School Supplement, that’s a must submit for all internationals to Princeton, so dont worry about what expected grades your counselor might have indicated.
