If you're waitlisted, you may not get a decision until late into the summer. You definitely need to be proceeding in terms of a Plan B. One of D's friends put in a deposit at Sarah Lawrence, where she was set to go. Finally, her appeal to Smith worked and she got in off of the waitlist. I think SL gave her her deposit back, understanding the circumstances, but I couldn't swear to it.

whats a university day invite? is that the sunday at the square?

well done kiki! im so happy for u!!
at least u got one of ur top choices!! u can go to nyu!
but try ur best for barnard.. i really want u to go

Keep your head up high! NYU's a great school :) And don't worry; you've still got a shot at Barnard!

College admissions is such a crapshoot, honestly. It's evil, evil, evil.

yeh kiki i honestly don't know how u didnt get in.. over me.. seriously.. ur so much better
i cant actually believe im getting in places...

Well I just called them and they said send in a letter with my waitlist postcard and it will be "evaluated." Ugh....I just wish this hadn't happened, being waitlisted sucks. My mom called NYU about University Day and they said they wouldn't tell her anything on the phone, but that I should be "very confident about my status" or something like that.

what should i put in my letter guys

umm theres this guy i can refer u too. hes really good at appeals. has had a lot of experience with them.
try ur best!
and gd luck!
ill email u the details of this guy tomororw. im going to bed now lol

well done bout nyu..so basically ur in right?
what is the univeristy day thing?

"Evaluated"...yuck, I hate the sound of that word.

I think you should send a picture of yourself wearing a t-shirt that says, "I'm Barnard's #1 Fan!" or something like that!

i'm so sorry kiki =[ if you got waitlisted that can't mean good news for me...my mail isn't here yet though, it comes super late. i wonder if anyone actually got acceptance packages today or if only waitlist/rejections came? if that's the case, i hope nothing came for me today...

Oh, and about the letter...

Definitely say that you can't imagine yourself anywhere else but Barnard. Name specific details (classes, curriculum, etc.) Make it very, very, very clear that you will definitely (!!!) go to Barnard, no matter what.

I actually might do that haha.

no i got mine... i'm international. and surprisingly it came so early.
i got a fedex from barnard and oxy and bc..
and they were all dated 23/24/25th
barnard 25th
so they're coming..

kiki do extreme stuff
go camp out there
protest
get noticed!

I don't think so, constellation. I think all the letters, no matter what decision, were sent out together. Good luck, though!

Yeah, kiki! Carry a picket sign that says "I demand Barnard" in huge letters, and below it "grant me admission to the Class of 2009" :D

I'd help you, but I'm not very artistic, haha.

yeah, i know they were sent together but i was thinking that priority mail might take longer than a standard envelope. haha, i am just being crazy because i am so nervous about this for some reason.

you guys i really think i might do that...does anybody want to read my letter/make comments?

sure send over sista!

I think priority mail is actually faster than a standard envelope. I got my letter the day after they were sent out. If it had been a regular envelope, I don't think I would've gotten anything until today.

Don't worry, constellation!!! You'll be fine! Remember to breathe :)

chiaro did u get in too?
OMG MY FRIEND MARINA JUST GOT IN!!!!!!!! YEYYYY

hahaha thanks chiaro! :)
