The official thread for HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 2012!

Alright. you are right. I neglected to read your entire post. For that i apologize. Anyway I’m just going to drop this whole subject and try to actually have some fun with this thread. Like i said b4, i just posted to this thread to meet some new people with common interests and common situations (class of 2012). I didn’t want to get into a schedule battle (that i lost) and i certainly don’t want any negativity or enemies either. I’m excited for college and for advancing through high school and so i joined this website to talk to others about it and to get some answers to questions i encounter in the process. So on that note. It’s great to meet all of you here in the class of 2012.

Business.

Ostonziiiiiiii, did you not read his post? :]

haha. Sorry guys. I’ll leave :] Continue your amicable discussion.

ICIC. Thats cool. I want to major in business or economics but i want to minor in political science because i LOVE politics. I have found this program at Stern called Business and Political Economy, which is my like dream for college.

Well i havn’t done a tour or anything. But i have been to NYC many times…Its a 45 minute flight from here and my dad sometimes does business there a lot and i go along to see the sights and shop a lot. i love the city and the fact that stern is dead in the middle of it is amazing. Anyway… I have also seen stanford and it is amazing. I’m definately applying there for econ incase Stern doesn’t work out. Have you been there?

Stanford is five minutes away for me and it’s a really awesome campus. The weather is perfect, the dorms are nice, and the sports facilities are amazing :]

I need to tour the East Coast someday…

Wow. It must be nice livin in Cali. PA sucks. I don’t get out to Cali more than 1 or 2 times a year. But i really like it cause my Uncle has a place in palm springs so i go there to golf sometimes in the summer

haha. Yea. Cali is totally different from any other state I’ve ever lived in (Texas, Virginia, Washington). I’m not into big cities, so that’s partly why Stanford appeals to me.

That’s awesome. Palm Springs is a really really nice place. I suck at golfing though…

I’ve never known anyone in California that calls it Cali.

…You’re right. No one does.

But it’s shorter and I thought I’d follow Artleye’s trend.

Hey everyone! I’m in the Class of 2012 also! I’ve never been in the HSL threads. I usually stay in College Admissions and College Search and Selection but I decided to check these boards out and found this one!

Lets see…

I’ve been on CC since last year and love it! I feel like I know things a good while before you need to, which is good for me because I never like the feeling of finding out something after you could’ve used the advice.

I’m in the top 10% of my class at a special Math and Science high school in Virginia. My top choice school is UVA right now and hope to go to law school after undergraduate.

My schedule next year is:

Integrated Science 3 (chemistry, physics, and earth science in one class; required)
Intro Into Research (required)
PreCalc
Gym 10/Driver’s Ed (Required)
AP World History
Spanish 3
Honors English 10

These are all the hardest classes offered at my school.

:)

Welcome, :)

I have lots of interests myself, so nothing is 100% right now. I have always loved acting, but I don’t know if my passion will ever happen. I also like print journalism and would love to work for a travel or arts magazine or even doing regular reporting. I can see myself as a screenwriter and it would be my dream to write and star in my own show. I think later on in my life I may want to consider being a talent agent. I can even see myself going into tourism management.

:)

Those are nice passions!

Mine is not a passion you would think of…but I love helping out younger kids! In my free time I make pillows for children in hospitals, coach a younger girls’ softball team, work at summer camps, and more.

Anyone looking at prospective colleges yet?

I am LOL. You are taking a lot of classes, lol. Here is my schedule:

Honors Chemistry
AP World History
Accelerated Integrated Geometry
Honors Language Arts
Advanced Drama
French I

*Varsity Swim Team and I may join the drama club this year, but I’m not sure. We have the same interest, :)

Are you guys in a quarter system?

“Anyone looking at prospective colleges yet?”

Your sports count as classes? I do softball but it is after school 2 hrs each day not a class during school. That must stink.

UVA ALL THE WAY! hahahaha :)

"Are you guys in a quarter system? "

Yes, we have 4 quarters every school year.

Can you not do APs until Junior year Arquellania?

Swim Team is after school. We go by a semester schedule, but we had 4 quarters in middle school. I like the fact that I have so much time to bring our grades up. You don’t have as much time in the quarter system.

We do a quarter system here but we also brake our grades down into semesters. Its wierd, i know. Anyway i assume that just about everyone here is looking into their perspective colleges. After all, the website is collegeconfidential.com. haha.

How much I would never give to be a sophomore again…

Class of 2010 is where it’s at…

“We do a quarter system here but we also brake our grades down into semesters.”

That’s what we do too.
