Thx @Cayton

@FInancewiz, thank you I appreciate it I hope you get into all the schools you applied to! 10 more days to go, we are almost there haha.

On a side note, is really good to know I’m not the only one busy watching netflix after a long school/work day haha

@cayton That’s awesome! I’m actually taking an intro to philosophy class right now and it’s blowing my mind. The argument between free will/determinism and its correlation to moral responsibility is really interesting to me.

@ucastell Thanks! Super nervous haha. Pretty nervous because I applied for Haas. And Netflix is the best way to de-stress at the end of a busy day for me.

@FinanceWiz

The first philosophy class always blows people’s minds. I took mine during the winter session at my school and head was hurting just about every day that I had class. It was a great experience!

Good luck getting in to Haas!

@FinanceWiz, wow I understand what you’re saying Haas is extremely competitive but I wish you the best!! :)

@Cayton & @ucastell Thanks guys!! Means a lot to me. And good luck to you both as well! We can start counting the days on our fingers now lol

Best of luck to you! I also applied to Haas.

Only 9 more days.

so nervous/excited. I hate that we have to wait this long but there’s nothing we can do about it. everyone keeps telling me I’m going to be accepted but there is no way to know for certain! I’m a philo major, 3.85 GPA transferring from a really excellent comm. college in CA.

Are you an existentialist, @philojunkie ? If so, it is all meaningless anyway. B-)

@lindyk8 haha, right you are. still, UCB is my dream.

@philojunkie I remember some book, was it by Sarte (?), where a guy wanted to make time go as slow as possible, so he lay in a bed and moved beans, one at a time, from one bowl to another, then he repeated. He did this over and over, all day, every day.

Seeing how quickly you responded, I’m going to say you are slowing time by constantly refreshing the page (as we all are!). We’re all moving at a snail’s pace.

hey now, existentialism doesn’t have to include nihilism in its ideology!
Anyhow, 9 more days!

@lindyk8 I’m just avoiding studying for my philosophy of mind test tomorrow :)

Are you guys going to live on campus or off campus if you get in?

@ucastell

On-campus for me(Assuming I choose Berkeley over LA).

How do you guys go about finding roommates for off campus?

I’m considering it since I figure even if I live in dorms, I might get terrible roommates. Or is transfer housing different?

It is unbearable to have someone sleeping in the same room with you. I cannot share an apartment either. I’d rather have a very tiny single, but not sure it with anyone.

I wanted to live in the dorm since I wanted to have that “traditional college experience” and also I wanted to focus on my classes/school and not care about paying bills on time/cooking/cleaning…etc. However, me being extremely old (I’m 24) and being surrounded by loud 17/18 years olds scare me to be honest… but then I need as much as I can get from financial aid so I really don’t know what to do.

I honestly don’t know if to live on campus or off-campus. I live 40 mins away from Berkeley so I can always commute if things don’t work out… But I do want to have the “college experience” so it will be a hard decision.

@ucastell

I suggest you live on-campus for at least one year. Commuting for both years doesn’t sound very fun honestly. Lol
