The Official Yale Class of 2012 (Hopeful) Thread

Wow... it doesn't seem like it's been a year since i applied EA, but with the prospective frosh showing up on campus it must be that time of year again!

Yale's magnificent, you're all making a good choice :-)
I would strongly advise any admitted students or those applying EA to spend a few days on campus with a host before you apply/accept admission. As much as i love yale, i think it's important to make sure the college is a good personality match for you.

I'm available for a few questions if you have any (although my time is limited... we have a lot of work here!)

I second kwijiborjt's comments! And after having met him on CC, I met him IN PERSON here at YALE. haha how cool is that?
Anyway, yeah feel free to PM me if you have questions about Yale that aren't answered on the website, etc.
Yale really is great. Like..the best.

I third kwijborjt's comments. :)
If you have any questions about Yale, feel free to PM me. And good luck with the application season!

same here. I also want to major in environmental studies!!
just posted my EA application a few minutes ago!!!
I'm also kind of sure they don't need me at yale, and it's not like I'm just focused on Yale, I'm open to alternatives, but it won't harm me to TRY, will it?

Of course not, same about me, only that Yale has become my dream school after studying the amazing possibilities I might have there.

If you are accepted to Yale EA, do they send information about which RC you're assigned to right away, or do they wait until the RD pool is finished?

They wait until people send in their matriculation cards, which makes sense, since they can't sort out the rescos if they don't know who's attending.

i sent in my yale app last night! im nervous/relieved at the same time!

My app is in! I am so nervous!

my interviewer contacted me today
im soo excited!

i woulds be toooooooooo

I always thought I'd get married when I fell in love, but I don't think it's possible to marry a university- not even in New England.

As a Yale '11 GOOD LUCK (SKILL) ALL! (I don't believe in luck, only skill)

But, nevertheless best of luck to all haha.

hey, after how many days of submitting the app did you get a email? with the eli ID and stuff?

yale notified me that they recieved my app myabe 5 days after i submitted.
and i got my eli id about 2 days after that (today!)

Hello, all! I joined CC today and of course immediately came to this section as an EA Yale applicant! I'm excited to be posting and have already noticed that many of you have already introduced yourselves.

About me: I am beyond obsessed with rock 'n roll of all kinds. I have every single Led Zeppelin, Queen, SOAD, Slayer, etc, albums on my prized iPod. (I cried when SOAD went on their hiatus. Get the message?) Other than that I enjoy fencing (swordfighting), playing the saxophone, and just hanging out with people I love.

I've already submitted my Common Application and the Yale Supplement online. I received my Eli PIN today, but I tried to activate my account and it said the PIN was expired. I already emailed the people in charge, but I'm still kinda worried...

Anyways, great to meet all of you!!

FYI, you can all refer to me by my sn. I won't be offended. I've questioned my intelligence many times in my life after all :)

I find out if i am a questbridge finalist tonight!!!!!!!11

Hey I am applying via Questbridge but I don't think Ill get in.

PLEASE HELP!! I'm worrying myself to death! I sent in my app last week and my teacher and counselor recs were mailed three weeks ago although that doesn't mean they were received. I haven't gotten my PIN in the mail yet but I did get this email:

"Dear Applicant,

With this email we acknowledge receipt of the admissions documents needed to review your application to Yale.

We assume that we will receive, or have already received, official copies of your standardized test scores either on your high school transcript or directly from the testing agency. If you asked that your scores be reported to Yale, you should assume that we will have them.

It is not necessary to call or write to us to check on the completeness of your file. We will contact you or your school if we need any further information. Thank you for your interest in Yale.

The Yale Admissions Office"

Does this mean my teacher and counselor recs were received?? Does this mean I have everything in?? I'm really worried that something didn't make it and I would have to ship it overnight mail on Wednesday at the latest. Did anyone else get that email?

I think this is just their standard email, to be followed by their standard snail mail, but perhaps someone else knows for sure.
