I was wait-listed. But I'm going to Pepperdine, so I don't really care.
My stats:
2170 SAT/ 3.85 GPA

Aww, kellyconn1, that was really nice of you...you have no idea how much that meant to me. (:

"make me happy, how did you get rejected? i have almost same stast as you and GW is my safety school. where did you get accepted?"

I've been having REALLY ****ty luck with colleges. I applied to ALL the UCs except SC and Merced, and I missed the top three [Berk, SD, LA]. For privates I applied to Pomona and CMC [total reaches], Reed and Oxy [kind of reaches], and GWU [also kind of reach]. And I got rejected by all of them.

This weekend marks a dark, dark time in my academic calendar, I can tell you that for sure. I thought at least Oxy or SD would accept me ): But...oh well, UC Davis it is.

edited to add:

Also, I heard that GWU ED is 2x as easy as RD is. Damn, wish I'd known that before, I'd have applied early. ):

Dear kellyconn: Sorry about GW. I had actually thought Ann Arbor would be more difficult to get in. It is higher ranked and in general very well regarded.

kinko, yea go figure, i was surprised at michigan, but i am not very interested in going for a variety of reasons, i was a bit below stats wise for gw and michigan for that matter, but guess the ec's and my schools name meant something to them. I really was disappionted about GW but what can I do, its either Bentley which is a well regarded business college in boston or party harty IU. There have been so many wierd stories lately especially in my school. Interseting about GW ed, makes total sense.......two of my friends both got in ED and we are really about equal in every way. So where are you all going now?

kellyconn1--you should definitely seriously consider Bentley which is near where we live. It's really a nice school, and they're making some serious efforts to move themselves up in the world.

Decision: Rejected

3.3 UW, 2100 SAT (1380)
700 Lit, 700 World Hist

I don't understand, some kids at my school got in with the same grades and far worse SATs. One kid got waitlisted with a 3.4, 1170...

Uhhhh,

What is with all of the whining regarding harsh rejection letters??

It doesn't make a difference - a rejection letter is a rejection letter, no matter how congenially or harshly it is worded. Learn to accept it.

seems like most of you got into better schools anyway, umich, ucsb, umd..

rightwing - what are your stats? I'm asking because you say GW is your safety school. Did you get in ?

32 ACT (32/32/29/34/10)
3.5 UW
Subject Tests: 800 (math level 2) and 700 (chemistry)
11 AP's by the time I graduate
Debate and Jazz Band are my main 2 EC's-lots of regional and higher awards

Upward grade trend also.. 4.0 junior year, 3.28 frosh, 3.4 soph
i dont get it tho, because their HONORS program is ~31 ACT, ~top 10% of class... i was thinking i would be a good candidate for honors program..

I had GWU, BU, and NYU all in the sort of match/safety category, with GWU (obviously?) being the safest of those 3, and NYU being more of a match to high match

i thought GW was a target safe but I am going to tulane unless i get into emory

I spent the past few days avoiding this site because I had basically been rejected from every private school I had applied to (Im going to Vermont unless Babson decides to let me off the waitlist). Having looked at this thread I realize that GWU (which would have been my top choice after not getting into BU) isn't what I thought. Everyone here seems to have amazing stats which I would have thought were good enough. I had a 1920 on the SAT and can see many people with higher stats. I think we all deserve to have gotten in, this is quite upsetting.

the scary thing is that on CC EVERYONE has 2400s and 4.0 UW. CC kids do NOT represent the entire applicant pool

hmm... sorta true [lone freckle] a lot of kids on this site have higher than average scores, stats, but not everyone does, and few kids have 2400's, and lots of kids in general do have a 4.0 uw.
but you're right, CC kids do not represent the entire applicant pool
