The palm league or the west coast ivy league.

I’ve been seeing this thread title for about 2 months and I finally decided to read it.

Overall, the reason that there is some deliberation over what schools sh/would be included is that (point blank) there are not 8 schools on this coast that are comparable to the overall caliber of the Ivy League schools on any basis.

So what the hell is the point of this?

killmyentourage- stanford, UCLA, UCB, caltech, and to a certain extent USC have departments that are comparable in ranking with ivy league schools

I never said that there weren’t SOME schools, I said that there were not EIGHT schools that were comparable. For the sake of argument, I don’t understand the need to go slumming to fill in the remainder of the list.

This is a “just for fun” thread, not intended to make tempers flare, and yes, of course I’m biased!!

GO AGS!!

bump…

Bumping your own thread repeatedly (4 times) doesn’t mean that people still want to talk about it…

Sometimes you have to let things die!

I consider myself well versed in colleges around the country, but I have never in my life heard of these four.

Pomona College
Claremont McKenna
Harvey Mudd College
Pitzer College

Am I missing something here? Maybe because I live in Nor-cal…

^ all of those are part of the claremont schools, which i should also mention are also liberal arts schools. Pomona stands up with Amherst, oberlin, and other similar schools. Harvey-Mudd stands toe-to-toe with MIT and Caltech.
