The Quarters!

Hey guys,
So I am thinking about living in the Quarters next year but I didn't find many reviews online about the different houses. I know Nueces has a rat problem and I def want to avoid that (I have had too much bad experience with nasty critters in my living space) but how is Sterling, Grayson and Cameron? I heard from a lot of people that the walls are WAY too thin (just like Jester...) and the management sucks, but how is the experience there overall?

I would like some information on The Quarters as well. I don’t know much about them and know little from the online reviews.

They’er all pretty much the same, just at different locations. I’d pick based on my probable class schedule…if you’re in business or liberal arts I’d go for one that’s more south, and if you’re in engineering I’d go for one that’s more to the north.

Does Nueces really have a rat problem?
Is there a lot of partying that goes on at the Quarters? Would it be too loud for a student who was more on the studious side?

bump 10 char

I’ve heard bad things, especially about noise.

I am currently living at the Quarters. I live at the Grayson. I think it’s not bad. But my complain would be that it is overpriced. I pay $690/month, $85/month for parking and electricity/water. About the noise, I really don’t know much because there is no room on the other side of my room so I got lucky. But there is a lot of noise from outside especially on the weekends. West Campus and E-bus is right across the street. And the West Campus bus is always full if you have 8 am or 9 am classes. All the other times there is no problem. Also Grayson has no balconies while Sterling does. And the other bad thing about Grayson is parking. You have to park in the Garage on Rio Grande while Sterling has it’s own parking garage.

My friend is a CA for Quarters and she agrees that pricing is way too much but I mean, you get what you pay for. They’re nice rooms and whenever I visit her, there’s not much noise and it seems clean.

I’ll suggest living at Jefferson 26, I am renewing my lease for next year. It is decently priced, 700 for a 4bedroom/2bath and 50 dollar parking spots. Everything is included except electricity which is usually 25ish. I think it’s the perfect location; near all the fraternity/sorority houses, 2 stops and some of the first ones for the West campus and E bus, and it’s not too far from campus. Every month they have some sort of event where they have food out. Other times during the month they give away snacks and stuff.

The only thing I would complain about is the fact that it’s kinda dirty on the weekends because of all the parties. If you’re going to live there, do NOT live on the sides facing the street, specially if it’s by the corners of 26th because it is extremely loud due to the E-bus and all the parties on the weekends.
