I got something in the mail today about a book with pics of the new students. Pay and they'll put your info in there. Supposedly it helps you find friends. Does anyone really do that?

I didn't and I don't know anyone who did.

I only personally knew one person you did that. Waste of money just like Corks and Curls.

What's this then? Like a traditional facebook?

The Record has been around for over thirty years and it's not just a UVa thing...the company that puts it out makes them for hundreds of schools around the country. It used to be a "must have" at some schools, but with the advent of Facebook, it's obsolete.

Don't buy it, and neither should you submit your picture and pay for it. It's a waste of money.

uvamalex,

corks and curls is a yearbook. i don't think most people consider it a waste. Sure, I don't look at my high school year book, but its nice to have.

I am the type of guy who would buy a yearbook every year. I bought Corks and Curls my first year and I felt it was not worth the money after looking through it. It was a waste of money to me.
