Hello,
What is the best major for an undergraduate student who is planning to become a trader ? I know that their are no programs that made you a successful trader, so I'm looking for the nearest one to the field that will prepare me for that kind of jobs.
And if there is any specific programs in a specific college, I would also like to know about it.
Thank you.

Finance, Business Economics, Financial Engineering
Also, Ag & Resource Economics for commodity futures

The problem with trading is that you need many skills; but I can’t study all the subjects at the same time. And now I need to decide in my major to start my college research.
I heard about Applied Math/Economics vs Finance and also Financial Mathematics (or Mathematical Finance -I don’t know what’s the difference).

You’d be fine with some combination (major + major or major + minor) of Econ or Finance + Math or Applied Math. There’s no one specific program that is best. Besides, you’ll learn a lot on the job.

At UW they tell people who ask that question to look into the ACMS Mathematical Economics program. (Applied Computational Mathematical Sciences)

Thank you for all the great answers !! does anyone know about a college that has a great program in Applied Math and Finance ?

Stanford…
