Does anyone know what the deal is with those extra rooms in all the dorms at Hayden? They're not really big enough to sleep in, but not small enough to be a closet. I've heard that at other schools sometimes they lock those extra rooms up if they have them, but I was just wondering what they do with them at NYU. anyone know?

i used to live in hayden, and depending on the room you get, you can easily fit a bed in the closet (i know this because we did it...really opened up the room). they don't lock the closets, usually they put the dressers in there or something.

Do all the rooms have one of these? Or only some?

My daughter lived in Hayden this past year, 4th floor. She said there was a lot of variety in the different rooms. Her room had a closet right inside the door that they used for coats, shoes, cleaning stuff, etc. They had a large closet they shared for clothing, and then they had one of those mysterious little "rooms." Theirs was in no way large enough for a bed, but they put their fridge/micro combo in there and made it a little kitchen. I think they also stored their ironing board and laundry stuff in there, too. The room was pretty large.

when i went to orientation my bed was in there. My room was a suite with 5 people, so maybe that had something to do with it. either way it was exactly bed sized and had it's own window and lots of outlets, so I don't think it was just a closet. but it probably wasn't originally meant for a bed either.
