the SMART grant

My friend and I are both transferring to UCSD this fall. Our economic situations are similar. Her preliminary finacial aid notification lists the SMART Grant as one of the gift aids that she will be receiving. My preliminary financial aid notification, however, does not list the SMART grant on mine. So overall, she will be receiving $3,000 more in grants than I will be.

Is anyone else receiving this grant and know the specifics of it? $3000 is a lot of money, and my family is pretty economically challenged. I don't understand why I'm not getting it. It says "Those looking to utilize S.M.A.R.T. Grant aid must meet very specific criteria: Students must be U.S. citizens attending a baccalaureate degree program full-time, be enrolled as a third or fourth-year student and maintain a 3.0 GPA." I'm all of that, but I'm not receiving it. Anyone else in my situation?

do you guys have the same major?? since its major specific, is your major on this list? http://faoforms.ucsd.edu/forms/majors.pdf

Thanks BlueSkyPinkCloud for your help, but yes, my major is on the list. My major is Biochem + Cell Bio, and hers is General Bio.

call the financial aid office. And kirklandwaterboy: You're not funny AT ALL.
