I was rejected from Penn State - University Park but accepted by Penn State - Erie, The Behrend College. I was also accepted to the Smeal College of Business @ Erie.
Anyone know anything about this? I thought the Smeal College of Business was only at University Park.
I can't find anything on this about the Smeal College at Erie.

what this means is you are considered in smeal and will be able to transfer into psu main campus, as long as u have a 3.0. Smeal is at main campus but you can take smeal classes at other campuses

Ericg, what classes are you taking this semester and what have you been doing? I read your current student thread and am now a freshman at psu.

I live in NYC and I wanted to go to University Park. I wasn't planing to go to any other Penn State campuses. Now that I found that I got into the Smeal College @ Erie is it worth considering? Does everyone who apply as a business major and get accepted get into the Smeal College of Business?

When can I transfer to University Park? After my first year? Second?
When I transfer to University Park, I will still be in the Smeal College of Business right?

Behrend is a very nice campus. You may not realize it yet, but you've been done a real favor. UP can be a tuff adjustment for a whole bunch of folks. There's a reason a whole lot of them are "no shows" for year #1, and it's not lack of intelligence. You'll like Behrend, make some good friends, and the profs will pay alot more attention to ensuring your future at the U.

By the way, generally colleges and departments all cut across the various campuses. A prof in accounting @ Behrend is an accounting prof @ PSU, regardless of location. That's the way it's organized, at least in theory. Could that accounting prof in Erie "transfer" to State College? In theory. lol

You're beginning to grasp some of the incredible complexity of the PSU system, prbly more so than any system in the world, with possible exception of CA.

I believe for the most part everyone gets into smeal at some sort of branch campuse. I am taking Business Ethics, Macro Econ, Jewish Studies, MIS, Comp Sci, Earth Sci. You transfer to UP after 4 semester and if you have a 3.0 (2.0 for Act Sci, MIS, and Econ majors, 3.3 finance). you will be in smeal just like the kids who got in to university park directly. You get the same degree.
