I am very confused.. I received my acceptance letter today and it said that I was accepted to the Erie, Behrend College campus. However, they said I was accepted to the Smeal College of Business, which is at the University Park campus. Erie's business school is the Sam and Irene Black School of Business.

Is there a mistake? Which campus am I accepted to??? Someone help please, I am so confused!

JMAY: My assumption is that you were accepted to Smeal, but at a satellite campus, which means you would be there for 2 years and transfer to University Park in your junior year. Again, this is only my assumption. My suggestion would be to call admissions at 8 am EST on Monday morning and ask for an admissions counselor. If they are not able to offer you Smeal for the Fall at University Park, they may be able to offer you the ability to start at University Park, in Smeal, for the Summer; or to start in the Division of Undergraduate Studies (DUS) in University Park in the Fall. If you start in DUS, then you would have to apply to Smeal during your sophomore year. You will also need to attain a 3.2 during your freshman year to qualify. You would be able to take the same classes as a freshman as those already in Smeal. The first two years are “pre-majors” anyway and those admitted to Smeal as a freshman still have to apply again as a sophomore. Again, please do not take this as “official” counsel. I would call admissions at 8 am on Monday. I just did not want to see you stressed on a Sunday, so I gave the best advice I believed to be true. Best of luck!

I was told that when you are accepted to Smeal, it is as a pre-major. You still need to apply as a Sophomore for your “major.” The advantage of being in Smeal as a freshman, is that you are not required to finish the first year with a 3.2, but realistically, you will need to be around there as a sophomore, when you do apply for your major. This link may help, but I encourage you to call an admissions counselor, just so you are comfortable.
